Job Description

Apply systems engineering processes and skills to define communication and network architectures. Responsible for architecture definition, simulation modeling, analyses and trade studies, algorithmic optimization, and system level test. This position typically works under limited supervision and direction. This is an on-site position with hybrid option 2 days weekly #LI-hybrid. 9/80 work schedule.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage secure line of sight communication architectures
  • Develop and manage mesh and distributed network architectures
  • Develop and manage the system simulation platform
  • Perform analyses and trade studies as necessary to aid in the selection of system concepts
  • Support hardware and software design teams to ensure compliance with system architectures
  • Support system level test implementation
  • Ability to mentor and collaborate with other Engineers

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Four-year college degree in a relevant field, plus 12 years of related experience, or a master's degree plus 10 years of related experience.
  • Solid understanding of digital communication and signal processing principles preferred.
  • Strong programming skills (MATLAB, C/C++)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in wireless propagation and spatial channel models preferred.
  • Experience in developing link and system level performance simulations
  • Experience in RF impairment modeling preferred.
  • Familiarity with MAC and PHY concepts in LTE, and 802.11 standards
  • Familiarity with DoD communication and networking systems preferred.
  • Familiarity with SATCOM systems preferred.
  • Experience in advanced MIMO techniques - theory and implementation- is a plus
  • Experience with event-driven simulation such as (OPNET, QualNet, STK, EMANE or NS-3) is a plus
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Must be able to work under project deadlines and associated cost and schedule constraints.
  • Must be a US citizen, able to obtain DoD Security Clearance

Cubic Pay Range:

$120,000 - $202,713 + benefits.

The Cubic pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
