In September, Sonoco announced it is performing a strategic review of the Thermoforming Flexible Packaging (TFP) business unit. In order to support a newly formed global packaging company with annual revenues exceeding $1 billion, we are seeking a Supply Chain Associate to join our TFP Supply Chain organization.

The Sonoco Emerging Leaders Program (ELP) is designed to help you develop leadership skills, gain technical knowledge, establish strong business skills and understand company culture and processes. The program is a blend of hands-on experiences and opportunities.Throughout the program you can expect to gain a better understanding of your leadership style and contribute to Sonoco through valuable project work.

What you'll be doing:

  • Technical Skills Training - Safety, Quality, Analytics, Customer Satisfaction

    * Leadership Training - Project Management, Networking, Performance Management

    * Business Insights - Accountability, Execution, Risk Taking

    * Culture Integration - Communication, Collaboration and Innovation

This specific ELP role as a Supply Chain Associate will be part of our newly formed TFP Division. Our hope is that in time, you'll be a business leader! Whether that means you become a Plant Manager, Director of Finance, Supply Chain Leader, Regional Manufacturing Director, etc., the opportunities are endless.

  • Listens attentively & is able to communicate effectively via various communication channels.
  • Attention to detail & Organizational skills are critical to the success of this role
  • Managing customer requirements and respect timelines
  • Well-polished written communications and verbal skills
  • Strong accuracy working with numbers, and MS Office skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced and vibrant work environment with fast moving deadlines
  • Support developing & Initiate Process Improvements
  • Participate on Special Projects as needed
  • Build positive functional working relationships with all internal & external stakeholders
  • Organized, able to plan and prioritize workload.
  • Takes decisive action to address problems, following up with relevant team members

This is a hybrid role and it is expected to work onsite three days per week in our corporate office located in Hartsville, South Carolina or sales office in Charlotte, North Carolina.

We'd love to hear from you if:

  • Have or will obtain a Bachelor or Master's degree in Engineering, Sciences, Technology or Business - Supply Chain, Business Administration or Finance by May 2025
  • Previous internship experience (preferably in Manufacturing or functional area)

  • Proven leadership experience

  • Desire to work in or support a manufacturing environment

  • Technical aptitude

  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

Compensation:

The annual base salary range for this role is from $65,000-82,500, depending on degree type.
