Overview As a Mechanical Senior Engineer working for Hepburn and Sons LLC, you will provide mechanical engineering leadership and oversight to the Technology Transition Division in support of technology development and derisking efforts. You will be expected to provide subject matter expertise on mechanical engineering design that will include guiding, approving, and performing analyses. The position of Mechanical Sr. Engineer is a combined technical lead with a partial project management role within Hepburn and Sons and has specific functional responsibility for overseeing the execution of Technology Transition Division projects. The Mechanical Sr. Engineer is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing mechanical focused technology development activities related to the design, testing, development and enhancement of technologies being derisked by Hepburn and Sons for integration into DoD and commercial systems. The position requires an individual with extensive engineering and management background with the ability to work autonomously. This individual must be capable of leading a multidisciplinary team of engineers, technical specialists, and subcontractors to ensure quality engineering and reporting, drive technology innovation, and support the growth of the company in developing transition paths that provide value to our clients and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in mechanical engineering design, testing and evaluation, and exhibit a strong record of managing complex design and development projects from concept through to commercialization. While the division currently maintains a broad and diverse project portfolio, the commitment to grow and expand technologies and applications through ideation and proposal authoring is desired.
