That's why we're looking for an Audiovisual Technician to operate, test, troubleshoot, and maintain audiovisual (AV) and videoconference (VTC) systems in the Baltimore office. This role will be onsite five days per week.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for...



  • Serving as an escalation point to the Service Desk staff in troubleshooting and resolving AV-related problems; assisting firm wide Hardware and AV Support teams with setups and serving as an escalation point to those teams
  • Conducting AV equipment testing and assessments; analyzing needs, making recommendations, and obtaining quotes
  • Monitoring workflow, Service Desk queues, external connection requests, and team escalations
  • Acting as onsite contact for vendors performing complex AV-related repairs; confirming successful completion of repairs
  • Coordinating workflow, monitoring setup queues, and identifying potential issues
  • Remotely monitoring AV setups to ensure successful events
  • Understanding event staging and ability to provide support for large on- and off-site events, specifically Marketing and other high profile events which may include support before or after normal business hours
  • Setting up and breaking down electronic presentation equipment (videoconferences, audiovisual presentations with laptops, etc.) and assisting users as needed
  • Ensuring equipment in conference rooms is organized, neat, and functioning properly


The successful candidate will demonstrate...



  • A minimum of three years related experience including hands on experience configuring and troubleshooting: Videoconference (VTC) codecs, Conference room control systems (Crestron/Extron), and Audio and video components, including audio DSPs and analog and digital switchers
  • The ability to identify, define and analyze issues
  • The ability to set up and operate audiovisual, videoconference, and live event equipment
  • Thorough knowledge of protocols and AV design, including signal flow, VLANs, H.323, H.264, SIP, WebRTC, and H.239 duo-video, video bridging and gateways, and applicable platforms, including Zoom, WebEx, and MS Teams
  • The ability to develop technical documentation
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • The ability to coordinate the firm's event technology requests in Rendezvous application
  • Ability to frequently walk for up to 60% of work day; ability to push equipment cart of approximately 50 pounds
  • Ability to provide on-site support on emergency basis and respond to emergency calls
  • Ability to travel to other firm offices (eg: Towson) for project or coverage support needs


Pay Range for Candidates in Baltimore:

$57,000 - $77,000 per year

The range provided is the minimum and maximum salary that Venable in good faith believes at the time of this posting that it is willing to pay for the advertised position. Exact compensation will be determined based on individual candidate qualifications and location.
