The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

Molecular Imaging and Neuropathology includes 22 faculty as well as postdoctoral research fellows, research staff, and students. We take a multidisciplinary, translational research approach to psychiatric research, particularly studies of mood disorders and suicidal behavior. Our diverse paradigms comprise animal models, in vivo human studies, and postmortem brain research, with methods that include multimodal PET and MRI brain imaging methods as well as molecular genomics and biomarkers to guide clinical trials. We collaborate broadly to use our neuroimaging expertise to examine target engagement of novel treatments for mood disorders and suicide risk. Research in this area is supported principally by the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) and includes a Silvio O. Conte Translational Neuroscience Center for the Study of Suicide Behavior, the only such federally-funded suicide research center in the country.

This position supports our pipeline for processing and quality control checks and fixes for MRI data sets. This position supports and curates an accessible data base of all study MRI scans for use of MIND investigators. This position requires the conduct of data descriptive and statistical analyses for grant applications and scientific publications. The position requires keeping up to date on publicly available software for all these MRI related functions and managing MIND access to publicly available data bases.

Responsibilities



  • Data analyses: Analyze and interpret imaging data to identify key features, patterns, and anomalies; Maintain accurate records of all imaging analysis and ensure that all reports are timely and accurate; Continuously monitor emerging trends and technologies related to imagery analysis, and adapt analysis methods as necessary; Produce detailed reports based on imagery analysis, and communicate key findings.
  • MRI Data pipeline and processing; MRI Data curation and supplying data analysis files.
  • Obtaining external data sets, cleaning, checking and analyzing.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned/requested.


Minimum Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus three years of related experience.


Preferred Qualifications



  • PhD preferred.
  • Experience performing various vector based analytic functions including spatial queries, buffer analysis, clipping, merging and joining.
  • Python coding; facility with SPM, FreeSurfer and FSL essential.


Other Requirements



  • Must complete all online systems training requirements.
  • Special skills and knowledge: Requires expertise in MRI image analysis in addition to QC and date cleaning and curation.
