Summary

This job is responsible for basic visual, dimensional, and/or functional inspection of parts. Also, will provide first-level people leadership in a frontline setting. You'll help to coordinate and supervise the daily activities of a team.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical inspection of parts
  • Utilize CNC CMM, Formscan, Surface Analyzer, Air Gauging, Optical Comparator, Smart Scope (Vision System), Plug Gages, Pin Gages, Calipers, Micrometers, and tools used for Surface Plate Layout for inspection.
  • Develop new inspection methodologies as required.
  • Monitor need for new or replacement measurement equipment
  • Compile and maintain inspection records
  • Proactively seek productivity improvement opportunities.
  • Discuss technical problems encountered with manager, engineering staff, or purchasing staff.
  • Ability to plan own work schedule based on material requirements and skillset possessed.
  • You will assist the Quality Manager in planning, scheduling, and coordinating the day-to-day work activities within the team.

General Tasks

  • Strict compliance with quality, occupational safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Implementation of the instructions of the quality / environmental management representative and the occupational safety specialist.

Required Experience, Education, Skills, Training and Competencies

  • 10+ years related experience.
  • High school, trade school, or equivalent
  • Manual dexterity
  • Attention to detail
  • Familiar with data entry and basic computer skills
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with peers and superiors
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T experience highly preferred
  • Proficient in the use of mechanical inspection equipment
  • Willing to work within the prescribed procedures
  • Positive attitude, willingness to work with peers
  • Displays a high moral and business code of conduct
  • Respectful of peers, subordinates, and supervisors
  • ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 experience preferred

  • Must be able to lift 35 lbs.
  • Job is performed while sitting or standing.
