Constellis is hiring a Benefits Specialist to be part of a dynamic and growing team located in Herndon, VA. The Benefits Specialist provides comprehensive administrative support to the company for benefits administration. This role is responsible for managing group benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, and 401(k) plans, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. Additionally, the Benefits Specialist facilitates benefits enrollment for Constellis employees, resolves their inquiries, and maintains accurate benefits records. This position is based out of the Herndon, VA office operating on a hybrid schedule of 2 days in the office per week.

RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Responsible for maintaining participant accounts for both U.S. and overseas employees to ensure accuracy in enrollment, payroll, and benefit files
  • Oversees the daily administration and tracking of FMLA, Medical Paid Leave, STD, LTD, and VTL
  • Assists new and existing employees in completing their health, dental, life, 401(k), and all other related benefit plans
  • Provides employees with literature on available plans and pricing structure
  • Answers benefits questions and informs employees of deadlines regarding benefits enrollment options
  • Assists with benefit orientation, open enrollments, and monthly billings
  • Verifies and reconciles the monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies
  • Processes and maintains all status and pay changes, including COBRA
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills are required
  • Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information appropriately
  • Other duties as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS



  • HS Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree in a related field, or equivalent relevant experience preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in benefits administration across all phases of employee benefits
  • Proficiency in using MS Office suite is essential
  • Experience in Deltek, ADP, and other applicable database programs preferred
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with all levels of the organization are required
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time and multiple priorities to completion are necessary
  • Problem-solving skills with an analytical thought process are essential for resolving issues regarding benefit claims, etc.
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is typically based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Business work hours are Monday - Friday standard core hours, however some extended or weekend hours may be required.
