Clinical Director Requisition ID: 2024-8665 # of Openings: 1 Location: US-UT-Logan Category: Student Programs & Services Position Type: Benefited Full-Time Job Classification: Exempt College: Student Affairs Department: Counseling & Prevention Services Advertised Salary: $90,000 to $112,000; Commensurate with experience and licensure type, plus excellent benefits Overview Utah State University Counseling and Prevention Services (CAPS; ://www.usu.edu/aggiewellness/mental-health) is seeking an experienced licensed clinician to serve as our Clinical Director/Associate Director. This person will be a member of CAPS Leadership Team along with the Executive Director, the Training Director/Associate Director and the Statewide Services Director/Assistant Director. Responsibilities include administrative tasks related to CAPS clinical policies and procedure, supervision of some clinical staff members, and direct clinical services. This is a full-time, benefited, 12-month position, with 8-hour/day, Monday-Friday schedule. This position will be based on the USU-Logan campus, and not remote-eligible. Responsibilities Direct Clinical Services 40% Provides direct psychological services including intake, individual and group therapy, single-session therapy, crisis services, and initial consultations. Clinical Director Administration 35% Serves as a member of the CAPS Administrative Leadership Team, along with other Associate and Assistant Directors. In the absence of the Executive Director, supervise all CAPS operations in collaboration with another Associate Director. Meets with the CAPS Administrative Leadership Team as needed. Works closely with the Executive Director to develop clinical policies and procedures, and leads implementation of clinical policies and procedures on staff. Provides supervision and guidance to clinical staff, including the Group Program Coordinator and the Clinical Case Manager. (Specific supervision assignments are subject to change and determined by the Executive Director). Analyzes data and generates regular reports regarding clinical services utilization to assist the Executive Director with budget requests and operations planning. Provides a year-end report on clinical services to the Executive Director. Provides guidelines and feedback to staff regarding client load and case management. Manages the collection of client outcome and satisfaction data, and provides the report to staff. Assists the Executive Director to engage CAPS members in knowledge and practice of evidence-based practice and follow the best-practice guidelines related to collegiate mental health. Manages CAPS waitlist, including tracking and evaluation. Researches and provides information on clinical regulations and legal guidelines to assist the Administrative Leadership Team to ensure CAPS practice meets the necessary practice standards. Conducts weekly Case Staffing meetings. Attend the annual conference for the Association for the Coordination of Counseling Center Clinical Services and/or relevant webinars to keep up to date with best practices. Training Services 10% Provides clinical supervision to interns, graduate assistants, practicum students, and REACH Peers as assigned. Other Professional Responsibilities 15% Serves on the university's Behavioral Intervention Team, and other university and/or division-wide committees as needed, including, but not limited to, those focused on student mental health needs and suicide prevention. Practices all responsibilities in accordance with ethical and professional standards and state laws. Understands and comply with CAPS and university policies and procedures. Effectively participates in administrative and professional activities (e.g., staff and division meetings, case conferences, peer consultations, professional development, etc.). Foster excellent working relationships with co-workers, increase knowledge and develop new skills or abilities that contribute to effective service provision, contribute to the evaluation and improvement of CAPS, and all other duties as assigned. Prepares for sessions and maintain accurate and up-to-date records of clinical services. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: A master's degree or higher in a mental health field from a nationally accredited program. A minimum of 2 years of licensure to practice mental health services independently (e.g., Licensed Psychologist, LCSW), with current licensure or eligibility for licensure in the state of Utah by the hire date. Experience in a university counseling setting and/or experience in areas strongly related to mental health needs in a college population (e.g., eating disorders, anxiety disorder, depressive disorders, personality disorders). Preferred Qualifications: A doctorate degree in psychology. Licensed as Psychologist and meet the requirement for being a qualified supervisor (i.e., minimum of 2 years licensed as Psychologist). Two years or more experience working in university counseling centers. Demonstrated expertise in collegiate mental health issues. Demonstrated expertise in suicide and/or threat risk management. Experience providing clinical and administrative supervision. Experience with program development. Experience with and interest in conducting psychoeducational assessment. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Generalist base of knowledge and experience in psychotherapy (including teletherapy), (i.e., theories, processes, and elements of therapeutic change) and familiarity with developmental and other non-medical models of treatment and supervision.
