The Senior Simulation & Analysis Engineer - Structural Analysis will use their significant design and analysis background to analyze static and dynamic load cases on power tool components and assemblies - offering fast, reliable recommendations for revisions to increase robustness and optimize weight, size, and cost. The ideal candidate will be extremely strong in mechanical design with a passion for linear and non-linear Finite Element Analysis.

You'll also be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:

  • Directly support New Product Development and Advanced Engineering projects with Finite Element Analysis of components and assemblies, with a focus on stress/strain evaluations
  • Conduct linear and non-linear finite element analyses
  • Conduct dynamic, modal, and deflection analyses
  • Conduct fatigue analysis and durability calculations
  • Consult with teams on loading and boundary conditions
  • Estimate or verify loading conditions based on failure analysis
  • Recommend geometry or material changes for design robustness as well as weight, size, and cost optimizations
  • Execute analysis on competitive parts and products
  • Be highly agile - use highly effective communication skills to quickly understand the depth of work required and provide trade-offs of accuracy versus time to complete analysis. Articulate and prioritize time constraints where needed
  • Will receive analysis requests from a variety of team members - must be strong in prioritization, timing, and scope discussions
  • Mentor, train, and share knowledge to increase overall FEA capabilities of the department

What TOOLS you'll bring with you:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred)
  • 5+ years of mechanical design & Finite Element Analysis experience
  • Proficient with linear & nonlinear FEA, dynamic analysis, and fatigue analysis
  • Extensive experience with Ansys & LS-Dyna
  • Working knowledge of other analysis types such as CFD, NVH, gear and transmission analysis, and analysis of rotational components
  • Proficient in CAD - NX, Solidworks, or similar
  • Proficient in quantifying loading and correlating failures modes to FEA simulation
  • Strong root cause and failure analysis aptitude
  • Ability to quickly grasp component and assembly functionality, determine load cases and constraints, and execute varied complexity levels of analysis depending on criticality and timing to New Product Development team members
  • Highly motivated self-driver with never satisfied, always improving attitude

We provide these great perks and benefits:

  • Robust health, dental and vision insurance plans.
  • Generous 401 (K) savings plan.
  • Education assistance.
