Technical Training Manager

The Training Manager will lead the training effort in the service department. This role will be to develop training plans for customers, identify and monitor training needs in the organization, implement training programs. The candidate will also be responsible for performing repairs on TLD equipment and providing guidance on repairs when there are no training requirements. The Training Manager will report directly to the Customer Service manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Other duties may be assigned)

  • Develop training materials to include
    • Training videos on TLD products
    • Training power point on TLD products, and other training documents
    • Training Assessments
  • Maintain a database of curriculum, materials, customer training records, and provide training certificates
  • Identify and assess future and current training needs through job analysis, new product releases, and customer request.
  • Rotate to conduct on-the-job training with new area service technicians and provide an assessment of the Customer Service Manager areas of improvement.
  • Provide opportunities for training programs
  • Create a training quote and provide guidance on training cost rates
  • Perform repairs and adjustments to various components and operating systems on the TLD product line, equipment or related components.
  • Ability to disassemble components and to reassemble.
  • Professional interaction with internal and external customers as well as the staff they will lead.
  • Enforce housekeeping duties, including cleaning work area, toolboxes, and company vehicle(s)
  • Repair and/or overhaul components, such as electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Remote troubleshooting and product repair guidance.
  • De-escalate issues with unsatisfied customers and assist in solving their issues.
  • Organize and oversee in-house training sessions
  • Collaborate with department managers regarding instruction and training planning

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 7 years of related experience and a broad knowledge of TLD's product line and the operation of machines, equipment, and tools that will be used for the satisfactory performance of duties.
  • Proven experience as a trainer
  • Ability to use, read, and interpret drawings and measuring tools proficiently.
  • Ability to read and understand Electrical Schematics and Hydraulic Schematics.
  • Qualified to guide and troubleshoot customer remotely
  • Strong knowledge of PLC and Can-bus systems
  • Certified to handle refrigerants section 609, 608 type 2 and or universal, required.
  • Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods (mentoring, coaching, on-the-job or in classroom training, e-learning, workshops, simulations etc.)
  • Working knowledge of advanced electrical troubleshooting, Hydraulics, Air Conditioning and Diesel Engine applications
  • Ability to train a junior technician and customers to understand Electrical Schematics and Hydraulic Schematics.
  • Excellent communication, written and verbal
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Travel requirements are 60 to 80%
