Job Overview:



Manage development process and launch of assigned new vacuum product concepts. Manages and directs activities of vacuum application engineering. Identifies new product and application opportunities that align with global business goals. Supports selling of vacuum pumps and products to potential customers around world. Works with colleagues, in various geographic locations, across engineering, manufacturing
, quality, sales, supply chain, and marketing departments throughout various products' life cycles.



Responsibilities:


  • Products and applications: Strategic role in managing the product roadmap and selection of application opportunities. Reviews complex exceptions to customer purchase order amendments and/or additions and discusses with appropriate department. May provide assistance to customers regarding complaints and takes corrective action as required.

  • Problem solving: Identify, define and present alternatives to solve product road map problems and application issues. Propose processes and procedure modifications as needed.

  • Planning: Reviews formal written proposals for professional presentation of equipment and accessory offerings to meet customer specifications.

  • Project Management: Provide project management to engineering staff. Works with engineering management to delegate projects to staff to maintain work flow and provide customer service. Reviews deviations to project costs and/or adjustments. Reviews project time estimates.

  • Product Information: Technical expert in products and applications. Maintains knowledge of competitor's products, sales features, pricing structures and marketing methods. Ensures product offerings meet desired company margin guidelines. Participates in customer visits to assist in the sales process.

  • Develop testing methods and equipment: Prove out pumps and accessories in vacuum applications.




Requirements:


  • 5+ years of experience in

    product management


    .

  • 5+ years of experience providing technical support and/or selling vacuum pumps.

  • Project management experience required.

  • Bachelor in science, chemical engineering or mechanical engineering (or international equivalent); MBA a plus.

  • Ability to interface with all levels of engineering, sales, quality,

    manufacturing


    , procurement, shipping, production, etc. and foster excellent working relationships with customers.

  • Solid analytical skills to aid in marketing activities.

  • Sales experience a plus.

  • Strong business acumen.

  • Ability to juggle ambiguity of competing priorities and stakeholders.

  • Excellent communication skills. Multi-lingual a plus.

  • Willingness to travel globally.

  • Onsite in Mt. Prospect, IL or Sheybogan, WI (Remote if not local)




The pay range for this role is $62,600-125,000. The pay range considers a wide range of factors that include a candidate's skills; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and geographic location.

Job Overview:



The Product Specialist is an individual contributor within the global Product Management function. The position will be responsible for supporting the pre- and post-sales processes to accelerate growth of the Ingersoll Rand gear pump product lines across diverse segments (including but not limited to chemical and petrochemical transfer, transportation, energy, HVAC, medical, construction, mining, and general industrial equipment lubrication). The Product Specialist is responsible for helping develop our product strategy and driving the tactical execution of various commercial programs to aggressively grow sales.


The successful candidate is a collaborative, self-motivated and assertive team member, acting as trusted advisor to both internal and external stakeholders, with the ability to implement various commercial strategies quickly and accurately.


Responsibilities:


  • Pricing and Discount Management


    : Set and manage product prices and discounts in alignment with market trends and company objectives. Analyze and implement pricing strategies to maximize profitability while remaining competitive.

  • Demand Generation Support


    : Collaborate with the marketing team to plan and execute effective marketing campaigns. Develop compelling marketing content, including product collateral, whitepapers, and presentations.

  • Product Development and Marketing


    : Collect and summarize customer feedback and market research to identify trends and opportunities. Utilize customer insights to inform product development and enhancement efforts.


    • Create detailed Marketing Requirements Documents (MRDs) to guide the product development process, outlining features, specifications, product requirements and user stories.

    • Create and maintain product documentation, including user manuals, release notes, and product roadmaps. Assist in planning and executing product launches, including coordinating marketing efforts, and tracking product performance.



  • Product Lifecycle Management


    : Possess or acquire skills and knowledge of product management processes (from ideation to discontinuation) and proficient in market research and analysis tools.

  • Technical Sales


    : Uses technical knowledge to assess the potential application of company products, recommending solutions that meet customer needs, and advance the sales process.

  • Sales Tool Optimization


    : Develop and optimize sales tools and resources to empower the sales team, improve productivity, and accelerate revenue growth. Other responsibilities as assigned or required.


    Requirements:


    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field and 5 years of experience in product management, marketing, or related business roles.

    • Demonstrated experience in managing global portfolio of up to $50MM.

    • Experience in a B2B technical or commercial function is highly desired.

    • Product Knowledge: Possess and/or acquire gear and centrifugal pump technology knowledge.

    • Communication and Stakeholder Management: Effective communication with various stakeholders on a technical level, including Engineering, Purchasing, Customer Service, Quality, Project Team, and top management. Must be skilled at working closely with customers in their development/validation processes and guide pump specification and selection process favorably.




    Core Competencies:


    • Proven ability to drive growth through effective pre- and post-sales support.

    • Capable in shaping product strategy and driving tactical execution of commercial programs to boost sales growth.

    • Experienced in collaborating with customers during development and validation, providing expert guidance throughout the process.

    • Demonstrated expertise in delivering polished, effective communication with internal teams at all levels and external clientele.



    Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements:


    • This is a remote position, with travel up to 25%

    • Travel one week a month - Nationwide




    Pay Range



    The pay range for this role is $75,000 - $95,000. The pay range considers a wide range of factors that include a candidate's skills; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and geographic location.
