Job Overview:
We are hiring! Ingersoll Rand has an exciting opportunity for a Product Lifecycle Engineer at our Precision and Science Technologies manufacturing plant in Alsip, IL. This position will work with the engineering director and current engineering staff with the primary responsibility for supporting existing product line design, lifecycle management including NPD, and cost reduction projects that support the Ingersoll Rand Pump product group of positive displacement gear pump technologies. This position is based in the manufacturing facility of these products giving excellent opportunities to support product and process development changes to support customers' needs and key business initiatives.
Responsibilities :
- Design ownership of external gear pump product line: configuration, changes, extensions, and enhancements
- Lead assigned lifecycle engineering initiatives related to growth, quality, supply chain, and value engineering (VAE).
- Lead and support initiatives to enhance customer and shareholder value by supporting PPV and I2V (Innovate to Value, similar to VAE) initiatives.
- Lead new product introductions into the factory, working closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Materials, and Operations teams to support engineering builds, manufacturing launch, and operator tools/structures for success.
- Create and revise product documentation to current industry standards.
- Specify required tests, qualify requirements, and measurement expectations for existing products and alternate product concepts.
- Submit requests for testing and work collaboratively with lab technicians during test execution to assure that test objectives are met.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (mechanical engineering preferred)
- 5+ years of mechanical/hydraulic/mechatronic design, manufacturing, or experience in pumps, motors, controls, or equivalent industry. Internships considered for relevant work experience.
- Understanding of product design fundamentals at component and system levels.
- Proficiency with engineering drawings including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), tolerance stack-ups, and component inspection procedures.
- Experience in testing, and/or analysis, including use of lab equipment for verification of designs.
- In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes, including machining, casting (sand, die casting, investment casting, etc.), forging, powder metal, and stamping.
- Knowledge of materials, heat treatments, and coatings.
- Strong project management skills, particularly with organizing tasks and managing time to complete simultaneous multiple assignments.
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems and to make timely decisions with sound judgement.
- Proven ability to function effectively in a cross-functional environment.
- Good interpersonal and excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Experience using computers: Office, CAD (SolidWorks preferred).
- Experience with manufacturing and engineering software: Preferred: ERP (SAP), PLM (Windchill).

Pay Range
The pay range for this role is $65,000 - $100,000. The pay range considers a wide range of factors that include a candidate's skills; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and geographic location.

Job Overview:
We are currently seeking an organized and collaborative individual to join our team. This role will be responsible for supporting quotes and order management of configured and engineered product orders for our mission-critical pump technologies in a manufacturing facility. An Application Engineer works with a team to ensure the efficient and accurate pre-sale and post-sale support activities for industrial products serving the water treatment, oil/gas, and/or petrochemical industries while adhering to safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate is a problem solver, communicative, adaptable and can meet deadlines and prioritize multiple projects.
Responsibilities:
Application Engineering
- Respond to customer inquiries for pump technology product selection, pricing and application support for standard, configured and engineered- to-order products
- Prepare and submit quotations and technical bid documents utilizing a variety of product selection tools, internal ERP system and technical resources
- Review RFQ's, specifications and provide application engineering expertise in special applications (i.e. conceptual design of special configurations, evaluation of existing designs, basic modification of existing designs, etc.)
- Provide technical and commercial support to Regional Sales Managers, channel partners, and end users
- Provide
project management for orders requiring special designs, documentation, testing and inspection from order receipt through customer acceptance
Customer Support
- Coordinate with internal departments and outside suppliers for quoting and
project management purposes
- Represent the company in customer meetings and coordinate commercial and technical negotiations as needed
- Assist with aftermarket application support, spare parts selection and troubleshooting
Training and Development
- Participate in training programs to improve engineering skills and product knowledge
- Attend monthly EHS trainings
- Follow all policies and procedures (i.e. report on time and ready to work - Start/Lunch/Breaks
Quality Control
- Provide technical support for evaluation of customer warranty issues
- Participate in engineering and quality discussions
Safety Compliance
