Job Description

The Compliance Associate, hourly (non-exempt), position assists in all aspects of the Bank's compliance and CRA program.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Update and maintain compliance and CRA information on Bank systems.
  • Administer the Bank's Third-Party Risk Management program.
  • Review advertising and marketing materials for compliance with federal and state advertising laws and regulations.
  • Coordinate with the branches and various departments within the Bank on compliance related issues / projects.
  • Perform and manage quality control reviews, including administration of the Compliance HMDA and CRA Small Business review process.
  • Create and maintain reports for senior management, the Board of Directors, and the FDIC
  • Serve as secretary of the Compliance Management Working Committee and other Compliance committees, as appointed.
  • Assist in preparation of materials for consumer compliance and CRA, safety & soundness, information technology, trust, and all other examinations as necessary, including special requests for information and documentation.
  • Prepare the CRA Board Report.
  • Research and prepare compliance-related training materials and conduct training sessions.
  • Assist in compliance and fair lending audits as needed and work with the audit department to implement changes, enhancements, etc.
  • Conduct and complete additional assignments/projects as designated by management.
  • Perform all other related duties as applicable.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum three years of banking experience required
  • Compliance and CRA experience a plus.
  • Understanding of audit and analysis is helpful.
  • Must be professional, comfortable speaking with external and internal contacts with a demonstrated ability to effectively tailor the message appropriately to the audience and situation.
  • Demonstrated ability to convey thoughts and ideas effectively and succinctly via written formats, including emails, letters, and electronic platforms. Maintain professional standards relating to spelling and grammar.
  • Maintain credibility through professional demeanor, appearance, and presence by modeling standards appropriate to our environment and industry.
  • Maintain good working relationships with internal partners by exhibiting exemplary interpersonal skills, adopting a constructive, solutions-focused approach.
  • Use sound professional judgment to balance the interests of the organization and customer, understanding and using available resources to mitigate risks.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 products and applications, including the ability to effectively prepare or review documents, procedures, and reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new systems and applications for data management and program interfacing is crucial.
  • Occasional travel to other First American Bank locations, Bank functions, and training facilities may be required.
  • Typical scheduled hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Additional hours may be required depending upon business need..
