Responsibilities
POSITION PURPOSE: Directs the processing of information for the Admission Department. Responsible for MS4/Midas entry of inquiry calls and admissions and trains staff in the use of MS4/Midas. Assists with administrative functions of Admissions, including scheduling, filing, supplies and daily coordination of workload for both Acute & RTC Admissions Coordinators. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Requires the use of office equipment, such as computer terminal, telephone, copier, typewriter and facsimile. Able to communicate in an assertive and helpful manner. Demonstrate knowledge of grammar, punctuation and spelling as well as business letter construction. Ability to transcribe, file and maintain records, files, reports and other correspondence. Strong organizational skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Typing 60 words per minute with working knowledge of WordPerfect 5.1 word processing. Ability to handle frequent interruptions. Ability to handle daily stressful situations. EDUCATION: High school diploma or general education degree. Business college or secretarial degree preferred. LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: None. EXPERIENCE: Three years secretarial experience required, preferably in a hospital or mental health setting. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: * Correctable hearing and vision sufficient to perform essential functions of a secretary. * Must be able to type, write and speak clearly. * Must have fine motor skills to perform typing and writing of reports, messages, etc. * Position requires sedentary work, occasionally lifts up to 25 pounds and carries small objects from waist to chest. * Secretary sits at desk with computer terminal 70-80% of the time. * Ability to distinguish telephone rings and to hear and speak clearly over the telephone. * Requires occasional bending, stooping and stretching. * Requires emotional stability sufficient to handle stressful situations, including unexpected deadlines.
