Summary

The Electronic Pre-Press Tech is responsible for preparing clients files for both offset and digital workflows using industry standard software and techniques. Duties include but are not limited to:



  • Providing technical services
  • Troubleshooting
  • Analytical problem solving
  • Preparing printing projects for outputs on the printing press

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Four (4) years prepress experience using Adobe CC (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat/Pitstop) as well as RIP and imposition/layout experience is necessary.

Experience on Macintosh workstations and Microsoft Word, Excel and XMF is preferred.

Major Accountabilities

1) Prepare digital files and reconfigure for pre-press and printing processes by utilizing the proper electronic technologies to maximize the printing process.

2) Preflight, troubleshoot and adjust problems with client files as needed. Analyze files for accuracy and content and discuss any problems or issues with internal and external customers/designers.

3) Continually develop knowledge and skills in emerging technologies to support the printing process.

4) Proof/plate prepress files.

5) Responsible for client file changes.

6) Large format responsibilities using Epson and Mimaki printers (poster & banners).

Onsite: Requires work to be performed in the field and/or at an APS facility. Depending on the responsibilities of the role, this may include, but is not limited to, working at a power plant, job site, or in the community.
