Job Summary:
The Program Supervisor is responsible for supervising workforce center staff in the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families/CHOICES, Wagner Peyser, Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Employment and Training, Noncustodial Parent Choices, Trade Adjustment Assistance, Re-employment Services and Eligibility Assessment Program and other special workforce development programs. The Program Supervisor also provides performance feedback and assessment of each of the program staff. The Program Supervisor will also assist in defining staff duties and objectives for each program, prioritize and schedule staff work assignments, train and develop staff, and implement and ensure compliance with policies and procedures
Essential Functions:
- Prepare, submit and monitor case management documentation throughout the duration of client participation in the program, ensuring that data is entered into TWIST system in a timely manner.
- Reports directly with Site Manager in overall daily operations of the programs.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by senior management including the assignment to work in another component of any program, as needed.
- Maintaining a positive attitude.
Other Functions:
- Provide information to potential clients and verify eligibility for services.
- Conduct interviews to determine client needs.
- Develop and track employment plans and provide case management for each client.
- Coordinate supportive services such as child care, general transportation, bus tokens, mileage reimbursements and vouchers, and maintain confidentiality thereof.
- Conduct follow-up with clients and supportive services providers.
- Monitor client progress through appropriate activities and take timely action when client circumstances preclude achievement of goal.
- Travel to attend meetings training and other activities
- May facilitate group orientations.
- Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Baccalaureate degree (preferred), plus a minimum 2 years of recent full-time workforce programs experience. May be substituted with 60 college credit hours plus 5 years of recent full-time workforce programs experience.
- Knowledge of management, office procedures and possess the ability to supervise professional and clerical staff.
- Ability to lead and motivate others in a manner conducive to high productivity and morale
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with ability to perform basic word processing and data entry.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated customer service skills.
- Familiarity with the communities being served.
- Knowledge and understanding of local needs and resources.
Preferred: Previous experience with TWIST software system. Bilingual (English/Spanish).
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate both verbally and in written form to express and exchange ideas.
- While performing the responsibilities of this job, the employee must be able to access all components of work station and other office equipment.
- Frequent typing, writing, bending and twisting.
- Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds.
Work Environment:
Includes both a typical office environment, with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues, and local travel, including exposure to heat, cold, inclement weather conditions, and occasional environmental hazards.
