We are seeking a highly motivated engineer to join the Formulation Process Development department supporting the formulation and process development of respiratory drug products in the MannKind pipeline.

What You'll Be Doing:

Support development and optimization of engineered particle inhaled dosage forms. Specific unit operations include wet-stirred media milling, spray drying, encapsulation, and blistering.
Perform physiochemical property characterization of drug product intermediates.
Support batch manufacture for development, pre-clinical and clinical studies.
Design, execute, and interpret experiments to support formulation and process development.
Document, compile, review, and present data.
Comply with safety guidelines and good laboratory practices which include the maintenance of laboratory documentation, written procedures and laboratory notebooks.
Work with hazardous materials and chemicals in accordance with MannKind safety policies and procedures.

What You Bring to the Table:

Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in chemical engineering, Bioengineering, or Pharmaceutical Engineering, preferably within 1-2 years of graduation.
Strong engineering fundamentals.
Excellent problem solving and data analysis skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
Attention to detail.
Fluency in MS Office software.
Accuracy in following instructions, generating data, and documenting data and procedures.

Bonus Points If You Have:

Prior experience within life sciences, pharmaceuticals, or biotech industries
You possess superior time management and organizational skills.
Experience with general laboratory procedures is a plus.
You have an intrinsic motivation to continually improve and optimize processes.
You take the initiative to identify opportunities for improvement and act on them without needing constant direction.
You are open to constructive criticism and use it to improve performance and grow professionally.

A reliable commute or the intention to find temporary housing before starting the Co-op is required.
