Senior Database Administrator

Design and implement enterprise database solutions across cloud and on-premise environments to support advanced analytics, machine learning, and traditional operational workloads

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement database architecture including high availability and disaster recovery solutions leveraging cloud capabilities

  • Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing strategies, and architectural improvements

  • Develop and enforce database monitoring processes, procedures, and standards to improve operational efficiency

  • Configure and administer both relational and NoSQL database systems

  • Troubleshoot database infrastructure issues using monitoring tools

  • Manage database backup and recovery processes

  • Partner with cross-functional engineering teams to drive technical solutions

Qualifications
Required

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

  • At least 5 years of SQL server management, build, configuration and support work experience

  • At least 2 years experience with cloud services such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

  • Demonstrated ability to apply detailed knowledge of IT standards, concepts, best practices, and procedures

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for purposes of communicating with non-technical and technical teams

  • Ability to take initiative and manage multiple detailed tasks in a fast-paced, changing environment

  • Excellent organizational, project management abilities, strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred

  • Certification in one or more commercial database systems such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MongoDO or Cassandra

Expectations

  • This position may require availability outside of standard business hours as part of a rotational on-call schedule
