Job Purpose

Developing and executing product and business strategy in a world of rapid technological and social change requires a highly capable, highly knowledgeable, and highly engaged team.

The Digital & Data Business Planning Department is tasked with navigating the strategy and execution for Honda's future digital services. The team will focus on building and sustaining Honda's core brand values and enhancing brand image and competitiveness in the marketplace by developing new businesses, features, products, and services in the digital domain with responsibility for their customer value, competitiveness, and profitability for Honda in North America.

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Unit Manager for New Digital Services business to join our growing team. As Unit Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the strategic business planning, from ideation to launch of our services into the market. You will be responsible for leading a team of Business Development Specialists, collaborating with CX, IT, developers, engineering, design teams, and other cross-functional partners to ensure that our services deliver customer and Honda business value.

Key Accountabilities

  • Strategic Business Planning:

    • Oversee the development and execution of business strategies for new digital services.
    • Develop new services, packages, and business model that prioritize customer value, customer experience (CX) and corporate initiatives.
    • Align strategies with Honda's corporate objectives, core brand values and long-term vision.


  • People Leader and Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    • Manage and develop a team of Business Development Specialists.
    • Collaborate with IT, developers, engineering, and design teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
    • Facilitate cross-functional communication to drive customer value and business success.


  • Service Enhancement and Innovation:

    • Continuously improve existing by creating delightful CX services based on customer feedback and industry trends.
    • Identify opportunities for feature enhancements, such as feature-on-demand.
    • Stay informed about technological advancements to maintain competitiveness.


  • Financial Performance:

    • Manage the Unit's financial metrics related to service.
    • Track subscription metrics related to product health.
    • Optimize pricing models to balance customer value and revenue generation.


  • Partnership and Collaboration:

    • Establish and nurture relationships with external partners, including technology and service providers as a leadership member.



Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree is required, ideally with a major in Business, Marketing, Engineering or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in a product management, product planning, product marketing, business development, strategic partnerships, consulting, or engineering role.
  • 7+ years of experience in technology subscription or service-based products in a B2C or B2B environment, including use case, requirements definition and business modelling. This includes automotive, connected car, software, media and/or Internet of Things (IoT).
  • 7+ years of experience evaluating and analysing data and analytics, specifically for recurring, subscription-based revenue to with attention to detail and data-driven decisions.
  • 3+ years of experience building and managing a team.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments and work at strategic and tactic levels simultaneously.
  • Self-Driven: Ability to work independently and respond rapidly in a fast-changing environment.
  • Results Oriented: High level of attention to detail while maintaining vision of the larger business objectives and meet company goals.
  • Bias For Action: Strong sense of product / domain ownership and bias for action.
  • Financial Literacy: Interpret financial data, evaluate ROI, and make informed decisions.
  • Sales Pitch: Articulate the value proposition of digital services to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Effective Communication: Clearly convey complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Presentation Skills: Deliver compelling presentations to executives, internal teams, and clients.
  • Agile / Scrum product owner certification or experience.

Workstyle

  • 90% - Normal office conditions - desk job with laptop, meetings, conference calls.
