As a Production Manager at PAC, you are responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Production department per sound operating principles and company policies and procedures with integrity and ethical behaviors to meet established performance goals. The Production Manager is an integral part of the Production team. Additional responsibilities include providing informational support to all members of internal management team and working effectively to provide support to team members and other PAC locations. Responsible for building a productive and team-oriented department, keeping PAC values of Integrity, Community and Service in mind always.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Personnel - Staffs, develops, trains, disciplines, reviews and motivates all staff. Responsible for all documentation related to staff. Utilizes team approach and involvement effectively.
  • Demonstrates excellent internal and external communication skills.
  • Production Schedule - Responsible for supporting the development of the Production Schedule.
  • Responsible for execution of the Production Schedule within established scrap, labor, run rate, quality, specifications and safety parameters.
  • Organization - Maintain a clean and safe production area, including equipment, consumable storage areas, and inventory areas.
  • Schedules activity for periodic inventories. Reconciles inventory variances on valuation report.
  • Establishes work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.
  • Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of team Reviews and maintains records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures.
  • Continuous Improvement - Responsible to initiate and facilitate multiple improvement initiatives with the goal of continuously improving productivity and quality, reducing expenses, supporting sales growth, and reducing inventory.
  • Purchases various production supplies, while continuously negotiating favorable terms.
  • Participates effectively in team initiatives either as a leader or as a supporter.
  • Budgets and plans for fiscal accounting year.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

General:

  • Must possess excellent attention to detail, problem solving and follow-up with a strong sense of urgency and time management skills
  • Comprehension of general manufacturing concepts related to efficiency, quality, safety, workflow and mechanics.
  • Direct hands-on protective packaging converting and in-line printing knowledge preferred.
  • Lean manufacturing, 6-Sigma and TQM administration experience preferred.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred
  • 3 or more years' leadership experience with a 100+ employee manufacturing group.

Language Skills:

  • Must have ability to read, write, and speak in English.
  • Must have the ability to understand complex reports and correspondence
  • Must have the ability to speak effectively before groups.
  • Ability to speak and communicate in Spanish is a plus

Mathematical Skills:

  • The position must be capable of performing all types of business related mathematics. Including, but not limited to, addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, fractions, decimals, etc.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Position requires the ability to deal with problems involving several variables in multiple types of situations.

Computer Skills:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and be willing to complete additional training. This includes being proficient in Microsoft Excel.

  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and varying temperatures. The noise level is such that hearing protection is required in the production area.
