TITLE: Lab Supervisor POSITION OBJECTIVE: The Quality Control Laboratory Supervisor will champion, support or lead quality improvement initiatives. Ensures that customer (both internal & External) customer requirements and expectations have been accurately identified met and/or exceeded. Follows and ensures personnel comply with established procedure laboratory to function effectively whilst adhering to correct procedures and health and safety guidelines. QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
- Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.
- Requires 2-4 years of laboratory experience in nutraceutical or pharmaceutical company
- BS in Life/Food sciences or other closely related discipline or 5-6 years related experience.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leads the daily function of the QC laboratory.
- Supervises laboratory personnel to include Chemists, Lab Technicians and Receiving Inspectors
- Resolves problems by examining and evaluating data, developing corrective actions
- Creates and maintains SOPs as needed for the laboratory.
- Assists the QC Manager in developing quality goals, strategic plans and targets for the QC lab and personnel.
- Champions the development and implementation of new test methods and procedures.
- Assists the QC Manager with interfacing with the FDA and other regulatory agencies related to cGMP, inspections, pre/post product approval inspections as needed.
- Oversees laboratory tests to produce reliable and accurate data.
- Manages documentation to ensure daily logs are maintained.
- Manages laboratory inventory system.
- In the absence of a department representative, the Lab Supervisor serves as a member of the food safety team. He / She is responsible for complying with all HACCP food safety and food quality programs, procedures and policies.
- Assists with the environmental monitoring program by coordinating sample collection and analysis
OTHER INFORMATION:
- Travel required.
- Demonstrate aptitude for problem-solving; ability to determine solutions for customers.
- Results-Orientated and able to work both independently and within a team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
MACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT, ELECTRONIC DEVICES & SOFTWARE:
- Proficient with MS Office Suit (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook)
- Project Management experience
