This is a first shift position (traditionally Monday- Friday, 5:30am- 3:00pm) however, there is potential for overtime work.

Job Summary

The FSC is a member of the Management Team. The FSC works in partnership with the QA Manager to act as Food Safety Team Leader which requires attending foods safety meetings, maintaining program files such as but not limited to CAPA in addition to more complex analytical-type tasks such as collecting, compiling, and analyzing data for various program documents and designing and maintaining spreadsheets. The FSC will also work with corporate partners to maintain Food Defense programs, policies and training. The FSC will develop a working knowledge of corporate practices and procedures and will actively participate and own internal and external facility audits. This individual will serve as a backup for various tasks related to the QA Manager, QA Lead and may be asked to cover QA technician absences and heavy workloads as needed.

Job Duties/Essential Functions




  • Maintain a safe working environment for self and others.
  • Ensure employees are trained and following all plant and safety, Food Safety, GMP and sanitation regulations.
  • Ensure all products and packages are produced, stored, and shipped within Wis-Pak and parent company specifications.
  • Provide adequate inventories of lab supplies, sanitation chemicals, water/wastewater treating chemical and product ingredients. Must upgrade testing equipment as necessary.
  • Is an active member of the Management Team and work closely with all members to develop best practices for the facility.
  • Is the leader of the Food Safety Team, which includes staying up to date with food safety training.
  • Will be Audit Team Leader in partnership with QA Manager.
  • Lead quality control compliance QAS audit and military audits in partnership with QA Manager
  • Lead food safety compliance audits such as but not limited to FSSC 22000, AIB and FDA in partnership with QA Manager
  • Design and implement programs to monitor calibration and accuracy of all analytical procedures and equipment in the plant
  • Lead the interpretation of in-process and analytical data to make quality evaluations, recommend actions for improvements, and assure resolution. Challenge results and drive improvements. Coach others in the interpretation of results
  • Provide training in the area of food science, regulatory requirements, and quality measurement systems to appropriate personnel
  • Administer quality control policies and procedures
  • Will promote and actively demonstrate continuous improvement within the facility
  • Follow and enforce all Wis-Pak policies and procedures.
  • Keep records and procedures up to date including documentation review within timeframes as specified on documents
  • Conduct meetings as needed and participate in facility meetings.
  • Assist and communicate professionally with other departments.
  • Must be able and willing to travel as needed and attend external training.
  • This role requires regular presence on the plant floor.


Qualifications



  • Must possess good people skills.
  • Possess good skills in math, verbal and written communication.
  • Good organizational, multi-tasking, time management skills and a proven ability to problem solve.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Maintain a legal driver's license
  • Certifications to include; HACCP and PCQI for Food Safety.
