What You'll Do

  • Participate in the development and implementation of Model-Based Definition (MBD), Requirements Management System (RMS), and Product Data Management (PDM) system into the manufacturing business process.
  • Execute technical activities involving model-based engineering, requirements management systems, product data management, and data governance for the specification and conveyance of product definition.
  • Work with NNSA federal program managers and other NNSA contractors to develop Digital Engineering Roadmaps for the National Security Enterprise complex and apply those to Y-12.
  • Develop specifications and procedures for integrating new Digital Engineering systems into current business practices.
  • Communicate with other internal organizations involved in transformational activities - cyber, architecture, engineering, product engineering, quality, and production operations.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering/science/information technology discipline.
  • OR a Master's degree in engineering/science/information technology discipline.
  • OR Eight or more years of education and/or relevant experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years-of-experience requirements for this posting.
  • Onsite presence required (some telework possible).
  • Possible travel up to 30%.

* Manufacturing experience.

* Experience with:



  • 3D CAD models and model-based definition. PTC Creo Parametric and CreoView a plus.
  • Requirements management systems and processes. IBM Door NG a plus.
  • Product data management systems and processes. PTC Windchill a plus.
  • Process mapping, functional and technical design documentation.
  • ITIL processes and methodologies.
  • SAFE project management processes and methodologies.


* Effective communication skills and demonstrated success in a team environment.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.
