This position is responsible for the relationship and credit management position working with the bank's existing business customers within the commercial loan department. This position has primary responsibility for overall daily management of a specific group of the division's existing business customers, including the obligation for regularly assessing and monitoring the credit strength of those companies, retaining the business and cross-selling additional services to grow revenue. In addition, this position actively participates in the oversight and training of all Junior Associates and Senior Associates.
The Level One Relationship Manager is an officer-level position. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Independently interact with, provide expert advice and counsel to, and service on a daily basis a specific portfolio of existing bank business clients, including attendance at customer meetings outside the office.
- Independently analyze and measure bank's risk through regular financial assessment of existing business customers, including presenting individual analyses at internal bank meetings held to assess business customers' financial conditions.
- Manage assigned authority, through the daily exercise of discretion and independent judgment, for ultimate loan and credit approval for existing business customers, including assessment of credit approval, collateral decisions, loan structure, and pricing.
- Support a portfolio, as assigned, to retain and expand the client relationships through regular contact and responsive high level customer service.
- Manage existing relationships, commercial credit responsibilities and business development/networking opportunities within their commercial commercial loan portfolio and identify opportunities for appropriate introductions to other business units to deepen the relationships.
- Support relationship managers with their existing relationships, commercial credit responsibilities and business development/networking opportunities with their existing commercial loan portfolios and help identify opportunities for appropriate introductions to other business units to deepen the relationships.
- Provide accurate and efficient work product in accordance with established lending and credit policies to maintain expected credit quality and loan administration. Identify any concerns within the portfolio and properly communicate to senior management.
- Delegate and direct the training and oversight of, and allocation of workload to, Commercial Loan Junior Associates and Senior Associates.
- Act as the key participant in decision-making team for the recruitment, interviewing, hiring, discipline and/or termination of Commercial Loan Junior Associates and Senior Associates, in coordination with the Relationship Manager and Division Head.
- Recommend and provide expert advice and counsel to existing bank customers on a broad range of bank products and services, both within the commercial loan department and also including Treasury Management, Wealth Management, Private Banking and Trade Finance, based on individualized assessment of the customer's overall business needs and financial circumstances.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree, finance or accounting preferred.
- 2 to 4 years commercial lending experience required.
- Exercise an advanced understanding of the commercial loan transaction, including credit approval, collateral decisions and loan structure.
- Detail oriented individual with solid financial/accounting aptitude.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be efficient with cooperative work habits and be able to quickly adjust to the fast pace of peak transaction periods and new business.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, provide supervision to other employees, and prioritize multiple responsibilities.
- Advanced business office and computer experience, including experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
- This position requires regular travel by car to various locations throughout the Bank's Florida market.
- Occasional out-of-state travel may be required.
- Scheduled hours are typically 7:30am-5:00pm, Monday through Friday.
