Summary/Objective:

Responsible for Maintenance and safety protocols of Powered Industrial Trucks for the Division. This position keeps an eye on efficiency and focuses on eliminating costs associated with Powered Industrial Truck needs within the Division. Position reports out to Divisional and Plant Leaders and the Maintenance Director.

Essential Functions:

  1. Fork Truck Repairs - Able to manage repairs of Powered Industrial Trucks through means of 3rd party vendors and plant labor. This includes, scheduling PMs and repairs, working with team members to make sure the trucks are made available, and delivered to the repair area in a timely manner.
  2. Inspection Analysis - Monitors Inspection reports from hourly team members and vendors for potential repairs and malfunctions that need to be addressed
  3. Record Keeping - Records powered truck data, inspection records, hourly usage records, lease data, WOs and requisitions in CMMS software
  4. Reporting - Reports out to Divisional Leaders and Maintenance Director on budgeting, lease expirations, inspection status, and other requested Powered Industrial Truck data points
  5. Budgeting - Must be able to reasonably maintain a monthly budget per plant for repairs on Powered Industrial Trucks
  6. Providing Value - Able to make recommendations that save the plants money on Powered Industrial Truck Repairs, rentals, or leases.
  7. Safety - Monitors compliance, performs LPAs and reports back to the plants and their Safety teams.

  1. Fork/Aerial Lifts - Able to operate fork trucks and aerial lifts safely and proficiently
  2. Basic Inventory - Basic understanding of maintaining and utilizing inventories

  • May be exposed to dust, fumes, gases, noise, heat, cold, and wet

Qualifications:

List all education & experience required for the role. Include years of experience with specific requirements.

  • High school degree or GED

Competencies:

  1. Must successfully complete Lippert new hire safety training and refreshers
  2. Basic Understanding of Powered Industrial Trucks - Able to form a familiarization with different types of Trucks, their components, and use cases.
  3. Basic Hand Tools - Basic understanding of the safe use of hand tools
  4. Must be able to successfully pass the Lippert OSHA approved forklift-training course
  5. Must have basic computer and telephone skills
  6. Must be an effective communicator with both vendors, Operations team members, and Leadership

Supervisory Responsibility:

This role does not have any supervisory responsibility upon hiring.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active - while performing this job the team member is regularly standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, balancing, reaching, handling, and climbing all day. The team member may have to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

In addition, the team member may be exposed to dust, fumes, gases, noise, heat, cold, and wet work while performing job duties. This position requires Personal Protective Equipment.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time hourly position, and hours of work and days are based upon the need to support operations and production. Weekends may be a mandatory part of your shift.

Travel:

Limited travel for training may be required.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  1. Powered Industrial Truck operation
  2. Background with budgeting, reliability, and/or Lean methodology
  3. Mechanicals - Experience with vehicle or hydraulics repairs
  4. Basic Fabrication - Ability to weld or experience with basic metal fabrication
