Description Job Summary: Provides necessary support to the production teams, assist machine operators with assigned tasks, maintain materials and supplies, track inventories, and package finished products. Responsibilities: Specific responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Operates a forklift truck to safely deliver materials to and from the factory
- Reads work orders and/or follow oral instructions to determine materials to be mixed for each run
- Loads /unloads materials onto or from pallets, gaylords boxes, and shelves via forklift or by hand
- Loads resins into blenders, grinders, dryers and hoppers by hand or vacuum system
- Maintains and prepare packaging supplies
- Packages all finished products ensuring correct packaging material, labels and details, per customer specification
- Handles materials and inventory control using barcode scanner
- Assists operators with stringing lines and taking rolls off machines
- Assists operators with roll data entry, roll changing, changing trim, mounting unwound rolls, cutovers and cleaning the systems
- Assists warehouse manager with monthly inventory
- Maintains confidentiality of information such as formulas, supplier names, materials, process conditions and set-up information
- Other relevant duties as assigned
Qualifications Required Education & Skillsets:
- Read a ruler and understand measurements in fractions and decimals
- Read, write and comprehend instructions and correspondence
- Communicate effectively with workers and supervisor
- Add, subtract, divide and multiply with the aid of a calculator
- Perform calculations that include but are not limited to fractions and decimals
- Use a computer for basic data entry of production and materials in database
Preferred Education and Skillsets: * High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) * Prior Warehouse or manufacturing experience Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job the employee must:
- Be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
- Be able to push or pull heavy objects up to 250 pounds
- Be able to work 12 hours shifts
- Perform repetitive tasks
- Routinely stand, sit, hear, walk, and talk
- Reach, climb, bend, kneel, crouch, twist and balance; sometimes in awkward or tight spaces
- Have good close vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus
- Meet Mativ certification requirements to operate Power Industrial Trucks
PPE Requirements: Employees are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment including;
- Safety shoes (steel toe or composite toe)
- Safety Glasses
- Bump Caps
- Protective Gloves; when performing certain tasks
- Hearing Protection; when required
- Other personal protective equipment as required for certain tasks
Work Environment: Conditions are that of a manufacturing environment.
- Air Temperatures can range from cold to hot
- Atmosphere may contain dust, fumes and odors
- May include mechanical, electrical, chemical, explosive and radiation hazards
