Lubbock Director - Library 39932BR Library Position Description Directs, plans, coordinates and supervises the operations and activities of a specialized unit or small department; develops and implements policies and procedures, administers the budget, organizes tasks and sets priorities. Serves as liaison with university personnel and community at large. Works under general supervision with broad latitude for initiative and independent judgement. About the Department and/or College Texas Tech University Libraries serve as a vital partner with students and faculty in their learning endeavors. The University Libraries' system comprises: (1) University Library, (2) Southwest Collection/Special Collections Library, (3) Architecture Library, and (4) Peters Family Legacy Library. The central focus of the Texas Tech University Libraries is to make available 3.72 million physical volumes, electronic resources, special collections and archives, and to offer services to students and faculty that enable academic and research success. Major/Essential Functions
Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in related area required plus five years progressively responsible management experience. Additional education may substitute for experience on a year for year basis. Preferred Qualifications Experience using the TTU budgeting, payroll, accounting, and inventory systems.
