About the Role

MWH is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to join and help lead our team in Austin, TX.

Essential Functions



  • Lead and manage project engineering teams on our construction project(s).
  • Ensure engineering deliverables are completed accurately, on time, and in compliance with design specifications, codes, and client requirements.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of construction submittals, RFIs and technical
  • Collaborate with operations teams to align engineering activities with project goals and schedules.
  • Provide technical support during construction, addressing design changes, challenges, and field issues as they arise.
  • Facilitate seamless communication between engineering, operations, and subcontractors to resolve conflicts efficiently.
  • Monitor engineering activities to ensure adherence to project timeliness and budgets.
  • Work closely with project management and scheduling teams to proactively identify and mitigate risks.
  • Support cost control efforts by reviewing engineering-related expenditures and recommending value-engineering solutions where appropriate.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineering staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a key technical point of contact for clients, designers, and project stakeholders.
  • Participate in client meetings to present progress, address concerns, and provide updates on engineering-related activities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to support long-term partnerships.


Basic Qualifications



  • MS in Engineering or Construction Management. Civil, mechanical, electrical or architectural or equivalent degree required.
  • Experience in utilizing design and CADD software, Autocad and Bentley. Use of digital construction tools in the construction environment highly valued.
  • 10+ years' construction experience with large scale projects.
  • Relevant water/wastewater experience.
  • Candidates should be skilled in staff development, skilled in client services and proficiency in project control systems, problem solving, claims avoidance, cost control, and quality systems.
  • Strong management skills including managing project resources and budgets.
