We are hiring a Payroll Specialist at either our New Ulm, MN facility or Eden Prairie, MN location. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, a strong understanding of payroll processes and regulations, and the ability to work with a high level of confidentiality. The ideal candidate possesses a strong analytical mindset, exceptional organizational skills, and a solid understanding of payroll procedures and regulations.

What you will be responsible for:



  • Utilize Paylocity software to process and manage payroll activities efficiently
  • Stay updated on Paylocity system enhancements to execute best practices for payroll processing.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly payroll for all employees
  • Create and manage Paylocity reports to support HR data needs, delivering clear and accurate insights to drive decision-making
  • Review and verify Paylocity timekeeping records for accuracy and compliance with company policies
  • Stay current with federal, state, and local tax regulations to ensure compliance in payroll processing
  • Collaborate with finance and accounting teams for accurate general ledger and money movement entries.
  • Assist with the configuration and maintenance of Paylocity Time Tracking, Absence, and Payroll modules, aligning with business needs
  • Audit and review quarterly and annual tax filings
  • Create ad hoc payroll reports
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and issues in a timely manner
  • Generate reports for audits, verifications, and benefits coordination.
  • Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll matters with professionalism and confidentiality
  • Contribute to HRIS projects and initiatives, helping to improve processes and implement system enhancements that benefit HR and payroll operations
  • Reconcile employee benefits and vendor bills for accuracy and resolve any discrepancies



Requirements

What you need...

Education:



  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • Certification such as Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is a plus.


Experience:



  • Experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar payroll processing role
  • Proficiency in payroll software (preferably Paylocity) and MS Excel


Knowledge/Skills:



  • In-depth knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws and compliance standards
  • Excellent communication skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality service to our employees
  • Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities

This position is eligible to participate in a performance-based bonus program based on company performance goals. Bonus payouts are not guaranteed and are determined at the company's discretion.
