We are seeking smart, self-motivated, well-rounded software engineers who excel at solving problems and seeking to improve processes in innovative ways. To be successful in this role you must value teamwork and communication as well as working closely with other engineers in small, dynamic teams. As a Software Engineer Intern in this role, you must be adept at learning new technologies quickly. This role will be responsible for the following and additional responsibilities assigned: designing, developing, and maintaining automation and performance testing framework written with Java and several scripting languages through JMeter on UNIX, Linux, and Windows platforms.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain performance tests following established standards, procedures, and specifications.

  • Implement approved changes to performance tests to maintain standards, correct problems, and to modify, develop or enhance functionality and test coverage.

  • Organize and participate in software design and code reviews.

  • Analyze software requirements to determine feasibility of design and implementation within time and cost constraints.

  • Able to participate in group discussions by expressing thoughts and ideas clearly.

  • Maintain an approachable demeanor and a positive can-do attitude.

  • Collaborate designs with team members in order to find the solution that best fits the requirements.

  • Consult with customers and co-workers in a professional manner.

Desired skills:

  • Experience in modern software development practices, principles, and tools

  • Experience coding in Java

  • Experience with scripting languages, e.g. Perl, Bash, PowerShell

  • Experience with RDBMS such as MySQL, MariaDB, SQL Server and any NoSql distributed databases like Cosmos DB/DocumentDB/ DynamoDB

  • Experience in DevOps practices and tools a plus

  • Working experience developing REST based APIs and implementing microservice principles and architectures a plus

  • Experience developing cloud based solutions in Azure a plus (other similar enterprise level systems may be relevant)

  • Ability to evaluate software quality through the use of functional testing, load testing, performance testing and techniques like network tracing, threat analysis, penetration testing, unit and exploratory testing

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or similar field

  • Must be graduating December 1st, 2025 or later
