ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

We are recruiting for a Design Researcher to join our team. In this role, you will be designing, developing, and delivering qualitative research and report-outs based on business needs and translating customer needs into user experience designs. You will own the Research Operations process, including vendor relations, scheduling, partnering with Legal on NDA's, MSA's, and SOW's. You will also be Utilizing Human-Centered Design, Outcome Driven Innovation (ODI), Agile, and other processes, to lead research and operations on Inspire's product(s) in close collaboration with product development and marketing.

OPPORTUNITIES YOU WILL HAVE IN THIS ROLE

  • Own and create processes and procedures for Design Research Operations, including but not limited to establishing MSA's, SOW's, NDA's (in partnership with Legal)
  • Cross functional collaboration with multiple teams to manage research operations, understand business needs and drive decision making or down selection process.
  • Recommend strategic research approaches based on business needs.
  • Create learning plans, discussion guides, conduct expert interviews, and/or recommend other research methods based on business needs (card sorting, A/B testing, etc)
  • Synthesize research findings to uncover and articulate insights that will inform and inspire design.
  • Lead cross functional teams through the synthesis, ideation and down selection process - distill down information to focus on the most important insights, linking them together in frameworks or principles for design.
  • Shape and contribute to strategic, systems thinking based upon insights gathered through research.
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills; fluency and confidence in inspiring teammates and clients with user-driven rationale
  • Evangelize for Dovetail usage across the organization

WHAT YOU CAN BRING TO OUR GREAT TEAM

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 4+ years of experience in a similar role, including research operations and Dovetail experience
  • Familiarity in full range of human-centered research and design techniques, including research methods, personas, journey maps, site mapping, user flows, card sorting, tree studies, interaction design using wireframes, prototyping (low- and high-fidelity) and usability testing.
  • Experience participating in Agile (or other iterative methodologies) development teams as the individual who is accountable for the user interface design
  • Ability to travel up to 25%

Preferred:

  • New product development experience
  • Medical Device Experience
