Under the direction of the Risk & Safety Solutions (RSS) Executive Director, this is one of five senior level leadership positions and is responsible for the development and analysis of strategic budget planning, financial reporting, and business operations, Maintain close working relationships with representatives in the Vice Provost's office and Office of the President. Leads a team that provides highly complex budget planning, financial forecasting, corporate based financial reporting, labor planning, rate development and variance analysis supporting a complex operation that includes internal and external clients. Working closely with operational managers, leads the short and long-term strategic budget planning across the organization with a focus on improving budget planning and forecasting process through the application and adaptation of system solutions such as Adaptive Planning, Aggie Budget, Service Now and other automation tools. Establishes departmental goals and objectives, and functions with autonomy. Manages and is accountable for the stewardship of human and financial resources in compliance with departmental and organizational goals and objectives. Ensures subordinates adhere to defined internal controls Manages systems and procedures to protect departmental assets.

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
- Advanced degree in finance, accounting. business administration, a related field, and / or equivalent experience / training
- Experience in personnel management including staffing resource assessment, recruitment, training and development, work assignment, supervision, team building. performance evaluation, corrective/disciplinary action, and conflict resolution.
- Experience translating fiscal data into workable budgetary elements.
- Experience managing budgets consisting of multiple fund sources with complex and sophisticated restrictions.
- Experience leading process improvement and change management
- Interpersonal and communication skills to clearly and effectively articulate goals and objectives to a diverse audience, secure and/or provide clarifying information, resolve problems, and effectively communicate policy decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA certification or advanced degree in accounting/finance or business.
- Experience developing complex financial reports to meet the needs of a growing organization with external and internal stakeholders.
- Experience working in a corporate/entrepreneurial environment in a growth-oriented industry.
- Experience with campus systems (Kuali, OPP, Provision System, Budget System, etc.)
- Experience to creatively solve problems and collaborate with key stakeholders.
- Knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting university resources.
- Knowledge of financial transactions and financial systems, as well as related policy, accounting, and regulatory compliance environments.
- Knowledge of University accounting, payroll and personnel policies, procedures, and transactions.
