About the Role
Redhorse is seeking a highly skilled Senior Program Protection Specialist to safeguard the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office's (CDAO) Sensitive Intelligence Office. You will play a critical role in protecting Critical Program Information (CPI) and Critical Technical Information (CTI) related to rapidly evolving AI technologies and capabilities. Your expertise will directly impact the security of our nation's AI-enabled defense systems, ensuring the warfighter maintains an uncompromised technological advantage. This is a high-impact position offering significant responsibility and career growth within a company dedicated to national security.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a senior staff advisor to the Deputy Director for Technology Protection, Sensitive Intelligence Office, for the CDAO on matters of intelligence informing strategies and activities, as well as counterintelligence and program protection functions to safeguard CDAO information, technology, and assets.
  • Provide direct support to the drafting and coordination of CDAO policy and guidance to the department on AI, data, and associated technology protection principles and practices.
  • Assist in assessing, defining, developing, and implementing Systems Security Engineering (SSE) requirements, including assessing security provisions in technical reviews, specifications, engineering and test plans, designs, program deployment actions, SOOs, SOWs, RFPs, and other acquisition and engineering plans and documents.
  • Assist with authoring and maintaining Program Protection Plans (PPPs) and related CPI pertaining to CDAO Programs and Projects. This includes PPP preparation guides, CPI determination matrices, risk assessments, manuals, and analysis tools such as CPI and component analysis and checklists.
  • Provide direct support to the Chief, Program Protection on the authoring and maintenance of Security Classification Guides, in accordance with DoD policies, providing clear and effective guidance to the workforce on derivative classification, as well as advice to the Original Classification Authority.
  • Devise and help implement innovative Program Protection strategies to secure sensitive technologies and capabilities.
Required Experience/Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience within the DoD or IC, ideally related to the management, oversight, planning, directing, and/or execution of program protection specific to a covered program with critical program and/or critical technical information.
  • Previous experience authoring and delivering high-level briefings with strong written and oral communication skills to DoD/IC senior staff and executives.
  • Previous experience authoring or editing Program Protection Plans and Security Classification Guides.
  • Broad knowledge of intelligence, counterintelligence, and security policies, principles, and procedures, including those for collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information, Special and Controlled Access program missions and functions.
  • Active Top Secret with SCI Eligibility
Desired Experience
  • 15+ years of experience within the DoD or IC, with a broad understanding of the pacing threats posed from principal adversaries as it relates to Strategic Competition in AI, Data and Analytics.
  • Experience within the last five years in the Joint Staff, OUSD(I&S), or other OSD-level component, preferred if related to technology, AI/ML, data analytics or data protection.
  • Previous experience authoring or editing DoD issuances including Directives and Instructions
  • Previous experience in the implementation and measures of performance of various active/passive counterintelligence measures and associated organizational security practices and postures.
Office Location and Travel
  • Falls Church, VA (partial Telework eligible).
  • Some travel (<25%).
