Description

Vedder Price is looking for an Accounting Specialist. The Accounting Specialist will provide accounting and financial support to the Firm. The Accounting Specialist will provide project-based support to the Accounting, Finance, Billing, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams. The Accounting Specialist is responsible for providing accounting support to the Firm by performing a variety of accounting activities, including financial analysis, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and bank reconciliations.

As the Accounting Specialist, your job duties will include but not be limited to:



  • Assist with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Collections, Billing, Finance, and Accounting functions
  • Maintain documentation for billing and accounting requirements to remain current
  • Process invoices, expenses, statements, and bills for accounts as assigned
  • Work with other departments to establish efficient and effective cross departmental workflow and communications
  • Develop and analyze reporting for business operations and budgets
  • Assists in the preparation of reports/forms
  • Establishes accounting and financial procedures including invoice processing, tax preparation and financial reporting
  • Work with team managers to document standard operating procedures and identify inefficiencies
  • Identifies discrepancies, risks, and other concerns to report findings to upper management and recommend appropriate corrective measures
  • Conducts efficiency analysis of processes and recommendations for improvements
  • Assist with tax preparations as needed
  • Other special projects as assigned

Qualifications & Required Experience:



  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • One to five years in an accounting administrative position for a law firm or professional services firm preferred
  • Knowledge of general accounting procedures
  • Position also requires the ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines


Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in the following software:



  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • 3E accounting experience preferred


Compensation Range: $60,000/yr. to $70,000/yr.
