Offshore Technical Representative

ChampionX is seeking to hire an Offshore Technical Representative in our Chemicals Technologies division. In this position you will be working for our customer in a rotational role based in Guyana.

What You Will Do

The Technical Representative shall be responsible for working with the Field Manager in overseeing and optimizing the chemical program and for supporting routine Laboratory Technician activities.

The Technical Representative shall be responsible for working with the Field Manager and supporting the Technical Account Manager to execute the Buyer's Process Monitoring program, inventory of chemicals on site and notification of responsible Contractor personnel to ensure product supply. Technical Representative shall monitor the chemical applications, conduct performance monitoring, and manage chemical program modifications. The Technical Representative's duties will include supporting Contractor's service technician activities to ensure all monitoring parameters are executed and chemical injection is maintained at recommended dosages with required uptime.

Technical Representative will be expected to provide ad hoc and first line field technical support for operations personnel. Technical Representative shall be a part of CMT and shall provide remote and on-site coordination and support of Chemical Management Program activities. Technical Representative is expected to interface regularly with Production Operations and Operations Technical personnel and provide operation support to Buyer.

Technical Representative is expected to provide assistance to Buyer's Technical and Operations personnel in failure root cause investigations and process upset investigations.

Technical Representative should have skills to perform laboratory technician functions.

The Technical Representative shall work offshore on a 28-day rotational schedule. The representative assigned to FPSO would also work out of the Georgetown office should there be POB constraints on the vessel. shall work with Buyer management to oversee the overall chemical program.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Field Manager, Technical Account Manager and Laboratory Technicians
  • This person will need to show basic knowledge and understanding of the Data Integrity and Quality Assurance and controls requirements.
  • Provide necessary back-up in analytical services to ensure execution of all required monitoring activities and fluid analyses in case of Lab Technician absence.
  • Act as a point of contact for Buyer's Asset team.
  • Chemical inventory tracking and site ordering to ensure continuous supply.
  • Plan and conduct evaluation tests for all chemical treatment programs to confirm suitability and effectiveness.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation for all chemical systems, including product application rates and methods.
  • Prepare and maintain appropriate documentation as agreed with Buyer for all chemical related activities relating to all facilities including procedures associated with application, testing and monitoring.
  • Document all routine work (including monitoring and surveillance) and activities in a form agreed with Buyer on a regular ongoing basis.
  • Provide support to operation personnel in the root cause analysis and aid in resolution of treatment upset.
  • Tank management for all chemical tote tanks to assure they are mobilized on and off the FPSO as agreed by the Buyers terms to assure agreed inventory control with the tank fleet.

Working Pattern:

  • This is a rotational based role. The work rotation pattern will be 28 x 28 days in Guyana.
  • Company will provide assistance of obtaining immigration documents (work permit) required for you to work in Guyana.

Minimum Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required.Fields of Engineering (chemical, mechanical, industrial) or Life Sciences (biology, chemistry, etc).
  • 5 years' experience in managing similar oilfield chemical programs in oil, gas and water production and treatment systems including troubleshooting.
  • Comply with and maintain safety programs.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Excellent communicator; strong technical writing and verbal presentation skills.
  • Experience in managing operations, supply chain, HR or QHSE is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.

Physical Demands:

  • Must have the ability to Lift/Push/Pull/Carry up to 55 pounds chest high.
  • This is a safety sensitive position and the successful candidate will be required to complete drug and alcohol testing.
