Your Role at Cabot

Cabot has an exciting opportunity for a Supply Chain Specialist. This role will develop raw materials (feedstock) supply and optimization opportunities within North America. In this job, you will be responsible for managing the raw materials supply chain from source to plant, across both the Reinforcement Materials and Specialty Carbon business units.

Internal applicants will be considered from Cabot locations including Alpharetta, GA / Franklin, LA / Ville Platte, LA and Houston, TX. Individuals based in Alpharetta, GA / Franklin, LA / Ville Platte, LA will be following the Flexible Work Arrangement (hybrid) policy and individuals based in Houston, TX will be remote.

How You Will Make an Impact

In this role, your primary responsibility will be overall management of the raw materials supply chain. From a source to plant basis, you will be responsible for moving feedstock from our suppliers to our plants/terminals in the form of trucks, rail cars, barges, and vessels. You will learn to identify sources of various feedstock and make decisions on purity, price, and composition to provide the most value to Cabot. This role requires a highly intelligent self-motivated and self-managed individual with a positive attitude, a ton of energy, strong organization skills, and a sense of urgency to make things happen.

  • Manage the raw materials supply chain to ensure that our carbon black facilities have sufficient inventory to meet their production obligations
  • Manage through various issues such as offspec contamination of raw materials, logistics delays, and unplanned operational issues
  • Support operations in new raw materials trials and opportunities that are consistent with Cabot's strategic goals
  • Supply raw materials to not only our US, Canada and Mexico sites, but any of Cabot's sites globally that might be in need of feedstock
  • Assist the Director of NA with the S&OP and Management Review processes
  • Assist in managing third party suppliers, terminals, and logistics carriers
  • Help in bringing clean technology and sustainable business to Cabot


What You Will Bring to Cabot

  • Degree in engineering, supply chain, business, or related degree strongly preferred.
  • At least 5 years supply chain operations or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in oil/gas and/or petrochemicals industry preferred.
  • Experienced in ERP systems such as JDE, Oracle, SAP, etc.
  • Experienced in supply chain planning and optimization best practices.
  • Ability to effectively engage in verbal and written communications that are timely, concise and clear.
  • Maintain appropriate relationships with 3rd party terminals, suppliers, and plant operations to enable execution of Cabot's strategic goals.
  • Acts with urgency and tenacity. Takes ownership and responsibility for management of the supply chain.
