Job Title: Geographic Information System (GIS) Solution Architect

Job Location: Los Angeles, California

Job Type: Full Time

Rate of Pay: $162,635.20 per year

Duties: Builds computer software systems, participates in the design process from beginning to end, and supports ArcGIS enterprise implementations. Designs, develops, configures, and deploys ArcGIS solutions for a variety of clients. Designs and develops solutions to complex application problems, system administration issues, and network concerns. Designs and implements GIS solutions, integrated geographic information system (GIS) infrastructure, and ArcGIS enterprise deployments (ArcGIS Server, Portal for ArcGIS, and ArcGIS Pro). Sizes and configures multi-environment enterprise GIS solutions. Translates business requirements into proposed technical solutions. Collaborates with Engineers or Software Developers to select appropriate design solutions or ensure the compatibility of system components. Executes all phases of the custom solution delivery process. Defines and analyzes objectives, scope, issues, or organizational impact of information systems. Monitors system operation to detect potential issues. Designs and conducts hardware or software tests. Communicates with staff or clients to understand specific system requirements. Troubleshoots and resolves complex system issues. Delivers technical software documentation or artifacts to support approval of custom solutions. Works within cloud platforms, including Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure. Develops or approves project plans, schedules, or budgets. Establishes functional or system standards to address operational requirements, quality requirements, and design constraints.

Approximately 25% domestic travel required, often on short notice.

Requirements:

Master's degree in software engineering, information systems, geoscience, geospacial technology or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and eight (8) years of experience designing and implementing integrated Esri ArcGIS Enterprise software solutions and infrastructure.

OR, in the alternative:

Bachelor's degree in software engineering, information systems, geoscience, geospacial technology or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and ten (10 years of experience designing and implementing integrated Esri ArcGIS Enterprise software solutions and infrastructure.

Must possess the following skills:

(1) Demonstrated expertise (DE) designing comprehensive Esri ArcGIS Enterprise system architecture, including capacity planning, solution design, solution development, and solution implementation leveraging ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Portal, ArcGIS Web Adaptor, ArcMap, and ArcGIS Pro; and providing strategic direction to meet enterprise GIS business requirements.

(2) DE engineering GIS software solutions, including designing and developing object-oriented GIS applications, geospatial data models, service-oriented architectures, and tools for spatial data migration to meet enterprise GIS business requirements.

(3) DE providing GIS consulting services in the Gas or Electric utilities industry leveraging detailed knowledge of utility domain and network connectivity data models and leveraging ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, ArcFM, SAFE FME, Intergraph G-Technology, and FRAMME so utilities can better leverage their utility network GIS data.

(4) DE designing and implementing strategies to migrate utility data from a geometric network to the Esri utility network data model leveraging Python, ArcPy, SAFE FME, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, Oracle, and SQL Server.

(5) DE designing and implementing cloud GIS solutions in Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services and applying essential components of cloud-based GIS solutions, including data flows, security layers, and scalability considerations; evaluating existing infrastructure and applications to identify opportunities for cloud adoption; and implementing integration strategies to connect cloud-based GIS systems with existing on-premises applications and service-oriented architecture with external and internal systems.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
