Essential Functions:

  • Lead the development of new air filtration products and technologies from concept through commercialization for Parker's Industrial Aftermarket Filter business (BHA).
  • Develop new air filtration products and improve core products by applying engineering design and materials science principles.
  • Establish and manage project schedules and budgets to ensure completion on-time and within project scope.
  • Work as part of a cross-functional team to achieve project objectives.
  • Interact with customers for technical support, troubleshooting and product sales.
  • Provides engineering support to manufacturing and sales as needed to ensure business continuity.
  • Performs mechanical and chemical tests on component materials per standard test methods such as ASTM (e.g. tensile testers, hardness testers, DSC, DMA, SEM)
  • Defines product performance standards and product acceptance standards using knowledge of products, product testing and general engineering.
  • Maintains and improves level of professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications and/or participating in professional associations.
  • Travel one day per week (on average) to Slater, MO manufacturing facility (two hours by vehicle from Overland Park, KS)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor degree (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Materials Science or related discipline.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in product development, technology development and/or project execution.
  • Proficient with engineering design and analysis tools (e.g. computer-aided design or modeling systems); ability to use standard PC software packages.
  • Experience using risk analysis (FMEA) to create testing plans and statistical analysis of test data.
  • Ability to work well in collaborative team environment and to work independently as individual contributor.
  • Ability to effectively and independently interact with customers, suppliers and subcontractors, and able to deliver customer-facing presentations.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Advanced degree (M.S.) in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, or a related technical discipline.

  • Experience in the filtration industry
  • Experience with polymeric materials and fibers
  • Experience with AutoDesk Inventor
