Position Summary

The Team Leader is responsible for the overall operation of the manufacturing process on the assigned shift.This position is responsible for the direction of the associates on the assigned shift.

Education Requirements

High School diploma or GED

Skills and Experience

Previous experience in manufactuingprocesses

Mechanical aptitude

Familiarity with carpet manufacturing process preferred

Good communication skills, verbal and written

Basic math skills

Meet license requirements for powered material handling equipment

Good interpersonal skills

Basic computer skills preferred

Essential Duties:

Reconcile all production and ensure it is keyed properly.

Ensure manufacturing processes areoperating properly within the correct specification parameters as dictated by product

Ensure all Operators are knowledgeable of the product being produced and the related specifications to include any relevant information necessary to produce first quality product

Assume Leadership role during critical periods such as start up, shut down, unplanned Line stops, etc...

Ensure all mandatory testing is completed in a timely manner

Assist Line Personnel as necessary

Ensure the accurate and timely production reporting within area of responsibility

Direct the activities of personnel on the assigned shift

Supervise daily cleaning of equipment

Notify Management of all mechanical problems

Monitorsew on and boxing areas and ensure accuracy of production tickets

Fill in for any job on the Line to give breaks or when necessary

Fill in for supervisor as needed

Obtain and coordinate the run schedule according to priorities

Shut down equipment if producing off quality

Maintain good housekeeping

Comply with safety rules and be responsible for safe operation

Comply with environmental regulations

Be aware of Departmental Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)

Willingness to learn and understand Interface's commitment to sustainability

Ensure ISO procedures are followed.

Perform other duties as assigned

Physical demands

Standing for long periods of time

Lifting up to 60 pounds

Climb stairs/ladders safely

Occasional 12 hour shifts

Work environment

Non-climate controlled manufacturing environment

Some work on 2nd floor catwalk
