Control Systems Engineer Position Summary: As Control Systems Engineer, you will be supporting the NAVFAC EXWC Control System Cyber Engineering (CSCE) division located in Port Hueneme, CA. Clearance Required: Must be a US citizen with a DoD Secret security clearance Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Design and develop control systems Create control features to ensure systems effectively meet the organization's quality standards Troubleshoot issues with control systems Review reports and test results Test program operation to verify it remains functional Reviews and prepares higher tier engineering documents and drawings related to the Control Systems engineering discipline. Properly interprets and applies codes & standards and customer design requirements in the preparation of Control Systems design products. Review project design criteria, vendor drawings/manuals Prepare Digital Logic Diagrams and Functional Block Diagrams Prepare Document Change Notices Coordinates technical issues with Startup & Commissioning and provides assistance to Construction in the field. Contributes to maintaining the project's instrument database using automated tools and has knowledge of the applicability of information to be populated in the instrument database. Required Education, Skills, and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. Experience in control systems engineering or related field. Must have at a minimum IAT lvl 2 compliant certification Experience with Job Control Language (JCL) Experience with Matlab Strong analytical skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Physical Demands and Expectations: Regular physical activity to include walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting (up to 30 pounds), and standing; occasional prolonged sitting Ability to speak, read, hear and write, with or without assistance Ability to use phone and computer systems, copier, fax and other office equipment This position description represents a summary of the major components and requirements of the outlined job.
