A Day in the Life: The Production Scheduler is responsible for creating the short term, daily production schedule. He/she will use advanced computer skills and planning programs (SAP, PDB databases, etc.) to develop the daily production plan that satisfies customer service demand. The Scheduler will work closely with production, purchasing, planning, QC, logistics and customer service to keep them informed of plans and changes to these plans that impact business regarding daily operations and customer service. The Scheduler's goal is to provide the best customer service possible while achieving optimal utilization of equipment, personnel and inventory. This position is the tactical portion of the scheduling department and must work with direct alignment of the Production Planner and Inventory Analyst position, supporting and cross training for coverage where appropriate. What You'll Be Doing:
- Promote safety by driving a zero incident culture ensuring the safety of all employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Be an effective safety leader engaging in Bunge safety discussions and initiatives.
- Develop daily production schedules.
- Analyze daily schedules for exceptions and resolve issues generating conflicts in the process flow, tank storage and out bound streams (Bulk trucks, bulk rail and packaged goods).
- Execute the planning strategies to maintain optimum stock levels and customer service.
- Support evaluation and monitoring of master data for planning systems (safety stock, re-order points, MTO/MTS class, etc.)
- Working knowledge of the weekly, long term inventory model for management review & decision making.
- Compliance to targets for finished goods inventory, days on hand, tank turns, etc..
- Deliver conformance to schedule goals, engage effort to identify gaps, analyze non-conformances, identify root causes and implement corrective actions
- Act as an intermediary between production, logistics, sales and the customer. - able to make decisions under pressure
- Production Scheduler is responsible for Food Safety and Quality - Follow company Quality Systems and implement Food Safety in the production and transportation of products to the customer.
- Maintain measures of standard performance (inventory turns, changeovers, schedule changes, etc.)
- Additional duties as assigned.
Skills/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree preferred or commensurate work experience
- BS degree and 0- 3 years' of relevant experience or equivalent experience.
- Production planning and distribution experience
- Experience with edible food products; oils and fats
- SAP experience, Database management, mrp/drp supply chain background, Advanced computer skills, Food technology, Just In Time ( JIT), Make-to-order/Make-to-stock
- Able to review and understand the progress of all the production processes
- Good communication skills, written & oral , with all departments
- Team player and customer service oriented
- Must be able to work overtime, as required
