Your Role With Us:

Salem Health is seeking a dedicated and experienced Associate Medical Director to join our Trauma Acute Care Surgery (TRACS) team. This leadership role offers the opportunity to work collaboratively in providing exceptional care, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and driving quality initiatives within our dynamic health care system.

As the TRACS Associate Medical Director, you will:

  • Deliver clinical coverage for general surgery and trauma-related services as part of the general surgery trauma call group.
  • Assist the TRACS Medical Director in fostering a culture of continuous improvement and implementing quality initiatives.
  • Provide professional surgical services as part of the TRACS/SHMG General Surgery service line.
  • Participate in internal and external committees, supporting organizational goals and representing the TRACS program.
  • Contribute to administrative tasks and strategic initiatives as assigned by the TRACS Medical Director.
  • Serve as a delegate for the TRACS Medical Director in their absence.

Background/Expertise:

  • Demonstrated experience performing at least 50 general surgical procedures within the last two years and a minimum of 42 clinical shifts.
  • Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree.
  • Board Certification in Surgery (American Board of Surgery or American Osteopathic Board of Surgery).
  • Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of Oregon.
  • DEA certification
  • Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification and recertification every four years.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Completion of 48 hours of trauma-related Category 1 CME within a three-year period.
  • Certification from the American Burn Association preferred.
  • Training in disaster preparedness preferred.
  • Familiarity with Lean methodology to drive process improvements.
