Salem Health is seeking a dedicated and experienced Associate Medical Director to join our Trauma Acute Care Surgery (TRACS) team. This leadership role offers the opportunity to work collaboratively in providing exceptional care, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and driving quality initiatives within our dynamic health care system.

Position Details

* Schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off, with 10- or 12-hour shifts (165 shifts annually).

* Patient Volume: 24-bed census, with a goal of 12 patients per provider.

* Team Structure: Collaborative environment with support from RNs, CNAs, a Nurse Manager, a Provider Manager, and Care Management staff.

* Patient Demographics: Adults aged 18+, with diverse backgrounds and conditions requiring rehabilitation

Your Role With Us:

* Provide comprehensive medical care to assigned patients, coordinating all aspects of rehabilitation care.

* Act as the treatment team leader to develop and implement rehabilitation plans of care.

* Lead interdisciplinary teams to establish written plans of care at admission and designated intervals.

* Deliver inpatient consultation services and evaluate appropriateness for inpatient rehab care.

* Facilitate access to appropriate consultative services and alternative care recommendations.

* Participate in patient rounding, discharge planning, and outpatient follow-up care as directed by the PM&R Medical Director.

* Support hospital quality improvement activities by attending PM&R section meetings, quality improvement committees, and clinical effectiveness projects.

* Utilize Lean principles to improve care delivery and collaborate with Care Management Coordinators and Discharge Planners to optimize resource utilization and patient flow.

* Serve as the physician champion for improving patient satisfaction in the rehabilitation unit by setting clear goals and reviewing patient satisfaction scores.

* Mentor and role model for other team members and implement strategies to improve the patient experience.

* Foster collaboration and maintain effective communication with the rehabilitation team, hospital administration, and other stakeholders.

* Ensure compliance with all medical record, billing accuracy, and legal standards.

Background/Expertise:

* Successful completion of an accredited residency program in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.

* Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.

* Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of Oregon.

* Board certification in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.

* Proficiency in Lean methodology with a commitment to continuous quality improvement.

* Strong leadership and communication skills to guide interdisciplinary teams and enhance the patient experience.
