Job Summary
We are looking for a dedicated
Manual Tester to join our Agile development team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of our software products through comprehensive manual testing. This includes functional testing, regression testing, smoke testing, integration testing, and 508 compliance testing. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to plan, construct, and execute test scripts, ensuring our software meets high standards of quality and performance. Your expertise will play a key role in tracking defects, ensuring they are resolved, and keeping the defect repository up-to-date.
Work is to be performed onsite in downtown Washington, DC,
3 days a week.
Responsibilities
- Perform various manual testing activities such as functional testing, regression testing, smoke testing, integration testing, and 508 compliance testing.
- Plan, construct, and execute test scripts based on business and functional requirements.
- Track defects, document findings, and work with the development team to ensure timely resolution. Keep the defect repository up-to-date.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and product owners to ensure comprehensive test coverage and meet team objectives.
- Apply testing standards, guidelines, and methodologies to ensure software quality and functionality.
- Perform regression testing to ensure that new code changes do not introduce defects or break existing functionality.
- Ensure all testing results and activities are clearly documented and accessible to all relevant stakeholders.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in manual testing.
Required Skills
- Strong experience with functional testing, regression testing, smoke testing, integration testing, and 508 compliance testing.
- Proven ability to plan, construct, and execute test scripts based on business and functional requirements.
- Strong understanding of defect management and ability to track defects through to closure.
- Proficient in creating clear, concise test documentation that is easily accessible and understandable to stakeholders.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies and ability to work within an Agile development team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work onsite 3 days per week.
Desired Skills
- Experience with test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail, Quality Center).
- Familiarity with automation testing (e.g., Selenium, QTP) is a plus.
- Experience in 508 compliance testing and accessibility standards.
- Knowledge of business analysis and the ability to understand complex business and system requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Experience working in a collaborative and dynamic environment with cross-functional teams.
