Job Overview:

Sets up equipment across production floor for manufacturing and communicates status of machine to the machinist/operator for the fabrication of metallic and nonmetallic parts.

Responsibilities:

* Operates and sets up all types of CNC/manual equipment for production. Prepare all types of CNC/manual equipment for change-over prior to production run.
* Possesses a solid understanding of Machining on multiple ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
* Ability to troubleshoot equipment to achieve part conformance. Performs own work inspections as well as others. Writes follow up reports and documents issues and concerns for next shift.
* Pulling Operational/Finish Drawings, Gauge Kits, JIS's, Tooling, Fixtures/Work Holder, and other materials when necessary. Pull necessary documentation, tooling, gauging, and work holding to setup equipment to produce a conforming part on all types of CNC/Manual equipment.
* Effectively communicate status of production run to Machine Operator/Machinist. Process, tooling, gauging, critical features/dimensions, and sign-off
* Work with Production Planner to stage Work Orders. Assist Machine Operators, Machinist I, II and III's when required. Teaching and coaches Machine Operators, Machinists I, II and III's to increase their ability and skills.
* Other duties as assigned.
* Ensures workplace safety and workplace organization (6-S)

Requirements:

* High School Diploma or GED required; secondary education is a plus.
* At least 10 (ten) or more years of experience in CNC machining and setup.
* At least 3 (three) or more years of experience reading and interpreting safety rules, blueprints, maintenance instructions, and technical manuals.
* At least 3 (three) or more years of experience in programming and operating multiple industrial CNC machines; experience with steel and iron products is desirable.
* At least 3 (three) or more years of experience utilizing basic hand tools and writing routine reports or correspondence.
* At least 1 (one) or more years of experience utilizing math skills (including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and working with percentages, ratios, and proportions).

* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
* Ability to deal with problems involving a few variables in standardized situations. Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision.
* Able to work in a team environment; good interpersonal and communication skills. Skilled in communicating job duties effectively in one-on-one and small group settings with supervisors, customers, and coworkers.
* Expertise in a variety of machining setups (including non-CNC), with proven ability to perform related tasks.
* Makes quick and accurate decisions using good judgment.
* Self-motivated and flexible; willing to shift priorities as needed.

* Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, the ability to adjust focus, and depth perception.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, to machining oils/coolants from handling coated tools and containers, and to coolant/oil mists which are below OSHA's permissible levels of exposure.
* Since it is a manufacturing environment, the noise level is usually loud due to the different machinery being operated (i.e. forklifts, hand tools, machines in other departments) and the testing that occurs. Normal noise exposure in the area ranges from 80-90 d BA, depending upon what area in the plant the employee is working.

Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements:

* This position will be based 100% onsite at our Southern Pines, North Carolina facility
