The BPH headquarters office is in Sacramento. Currently, BPH Attorneys telework. For this position, you must live and work in California. On occasion, travel may be necessary to BPH Headquarters, California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) headquarters locations (also in the Greater Sacramento area), CDCR institutions, or other locations in California. Employees are expected to maintain normal and consistent work hours, averaging 40 hours per week. Work in excess of 40 hours per week is expected, when necessary, to complete assignments in a timely manner. The BPH Legal Division strives for work life balance and these positions include substantial vacation and holiday time. The position(s) is eligible for hybrid telework, in accordance with the Statewide Telework Policy and will be required to report to the office as needed/required. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment Remote-centered employees are expected to maintain a safe and distraction free work environment at the approved alternate work location. Remote-Centered employees agree to adhere to the state telework policy, CDCR's telework policy, and conditions cited in the Telework Agreement (STD 200). The Board of Parole Hearings (BPH) maintains a high performing parole hearings system to protect and preserve public safety through the exercise of its statutory authorities and policies, while ensuring due process to all criminal offenders who come under the jurisdiction of the BPH.
Special Requirements
This position requires membership in the State Bar of California before appointment. You must provide a copy of your state bar number prior to hiring.
Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment.
