Job Overview
The Production Superintendent is responsible for managing and directing the manufacturing operations of the plant, ensuring that production goals are met efficiently and safely. This role involves supervising production staff, optimizing processes, and maintaining quality standards to meet customer demands and organizational objectives. Hours for this role: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 5:00 am to 5:00 pm.
A Day In The Life
1. Safety and Compliance:
o Enforce strict safety guidelines and company standards.
o Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
o Foster the mindset of Safety First
2. Production Management:
o Oversee the daily operations of the production facility through management of production supervisors to ensure that production targets and quality standards are met.
o Coordinate production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply to meet customer demands.
3. Team Leadership and Supervision:
o Supervise production supervisors and team leaders of operators, ensuring a high level of employee productivity/engagement and adequate staffing for all shifts and departments.
o Conduct performance reviews, motivate team members, provide and identify training and development opportunities.
o Establish performance and behavioral objectives/goals for supervisor growth opportunities.
4. Process Optimization:
o Continuously analyze current production processes as well as demand and recommend improvements. Implement new systems and processes to reduce costs, improve quality, and increase overall efficiency by use of M.O.C..
5. Quality Control:
o Ensure that the products produced meet quality standards required by engineering and the consumer of our products.
o Oversee quality control initiatives and coordinate with the quality assurance team to maintain product consistency and adherence to standards as well as all acceptance guidelines.
6. Safety and Compliance:
o Enforce strict safety guidelines and company standards.
o Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
o Foster the mindset of Safety first and Above All Else.
7. Budget Management:
o Take place in preparing and management of the budget for the production department; monitor and control expenses to ensure they are within the allocated budget.
o Report on production costs, variances, and the factors affecting them.
8. Inventory Management:
o Oversee inventory related to production materials and supplies. Ensure materials are ordered and stocked to meet production needs without excessive surplus or interruptions related to shortages.
9. Stakeholder Communication:
o Communicate effectively with other department managers, suppliers, and contractors.
o Report to senior management on production metrics, issues, and improvements.
10. Problem Resolution:
o Quickly address and resolve production issues to minimize downtime and delays.
o Implement corrective and preventive measures to mitigate future risks.
Work Environment:
* The role typically requires working in a plant or factory setting, which may involve exposure to noise, dust, and machinery. Safety gear is provided and required.
Physical Requirements:
* Must be able to stand or walk for long periods.
* Occasionally may need to lift heavy objects.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Industrial Management, Engineering, or related field.
* Proven experience as a Production Superintendent or similar role in a manufacturing setting.
* Strong understanding of production and operational processes.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Desire to mentor and establish/expand knowledge of team members.
* Proficient in MS Office and industry-related production software.
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations and quality standards. Preferred Skills:
* Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or similar.
* Experience with Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies. #LI-KH1
