HEICO is seeking a Senior Technical Staff Engineer for a full time direct hire role in Hollywood, FL.

The Sr. Technical Staff Engineer on the Technical Services team will be responsible for providing technical oversight of NPD, COS, and ODA activities across HPG. (S)he will also assist in product investigations where needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Review and ensure parts meet all HEICO design and quality requirements prior to receiving FAA PMA. Supporting activity is detailed review of technical and quality inspection data to verify compliance with HPG Policies.
  • Advise and mentor HPG Engineering and Quality team members in connection with FAA-managed PMA. activities. Areas of focus will be HPG Policies, Mechanical Design, Technical Requirements, Quality Systems, and pertinent FAA regulations.
  • Participate in product investigations to include forensic and engineering analysis, reporting and preparation of briefing materials to Customers and Regulatory agencies.


EDUCATION:



  • Accredited BS or higher in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (MS preferred).



EXPERIENCE



  • 10 years minimum product realization experience for Aerospace products. Scope should include Design, Process Development, Source Substantiation, Quality Planning and First Article Inspection reviews.
  • Knowledge in one or more product design areas: Part 33 Turbine Engines, Part 25 Aircraft components structures and/or interiors, and Controls & Accessories.
  • Knowledge of basic structural, thermal, and vibration analysis of mechanical components is required.
  • Knowledge of aerospace materials and surface enhancements is preferred.
  • Knowledge of conventional aerospace manufacturing methods, including milling, turning, grinding, lapping, stamping, forging, casting, molding, EDM, ECM, welding, brazing, and heat treating is preferred.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:



  • Professional Engineer registration is preferred.


SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE OR ABILITIES:



  • Language: English
  • Personal Characteristics: Approachable, Organized and Meticulous collaborator with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments.
  • Demonstrated competency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) in accordance with the ASME Y14.5M standard.
  • Reasoning Abilities: Ability to define problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Aerospace Specifications: Ability to interpret requirements to verify drawing and quality requirements.
  • Familiarity with FAA Orders and Policies, Advisory Circulars, Service Difficulty Reports and Airworthiness Directives; Ability to effectively interpret content to provide oversight and guidance.
  • Experienced with Computer Applications: 3D CAD (Pro-E, SolidWorks), FEA using MSC PATRAN and ABAQUS codes or similar, and Statistical Analysis.



PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Occasional bending, twisting, and lifting of twenty-five pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Position will work primarily in an office environment with low noise level but may occasionally have exposure to the industrial settings at HPG Business Units/Customer/Partner sites. Exposure to Manufacturing and MRO environments can be expected. These include mid to high noise levels and exposure to machinery/equipment/chemicals.

TRAVEL DEMANDS:

Occasional travel to HPG Business Units, Suppliers, Customers and Regulatory authorities is expected, sometimes at short notice. International travel is a possibility.
