SUMMARY The Operations Supervisor is responsible for ensuring their team meets expectations in receiving, storing, packaging, processing, and distribution of materials, in conjunction with the scheduling of work orders, tools, equipment, maintenance, and the personnel needed to meet customer requirements and management objectives. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Identify, investigate, and resolve delays in shift operations, ensuring shipping deadlines are met.
- Supervisory responsibilities including training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Ensure employee discussions, documentation, and performance evaluations are performed in accordance with company policies and procedures. Partners with Talent Management Retention (TMR) representative(s) when necessary.
- Determine the production schedules based on customer order requirements.
- Develop and recommend changes to improve the efficiency, quality, and performance of the manufacturing process.
- Establish the most efficient way to schedule employees and equipment to meet production requirements.
- Organize storage and processing areas to make most efficient use of space and handling requirements.
- Supervise employees to make certain production objectives are met.
- Maintain a safe work environment by overseeing employees to make certain MIOSHA, safety rules and regulations are followed.
- Must be able to use basic math skills, especially to use precision instruments including calipers and instruct others in the use of such equipment.
- Must be able to set daily schedule and work with little supervision.
- Must possess effective communication skills (oral and in written form).
- Train to be proficient in the Visual and Smartview ERP platforms.
- Print work orders and yield/issue material to saw jobs
- Maintain inventory control of work-in-progress and stored material.
- Review employee's timecards and approve weekly time sheets.
- Follow ISO policies and procedures as required.
- Must be able to interact in person with coworkers and the public.
- Must be able to handle high stress situations.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent.
- Prior supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of various machines and capacity to learn the operation, and ability to instruct personnel on the operation of equipment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Routinely required to stand and walk; use hands to handle and feel; reach with arms and hands; as well as climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Routinely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds
- Specific vision requirements include depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to wear all necessary safety equipment.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
- Exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold and heat and outside weather.
- Routinely work in noisy environment.
- Routinely exposed to moving and mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock.
