Johnson Controls is currently hiring for a Compressor / Pressure tester for our 2nd shift crew! This role is a great opportunitity that provides on-the-job training! Apply now for consideration!

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Load, pipe and align compressor and any other associated tasks necessary to assure proper run-in of compressor.

  • Must be able to run all Test Stands and perform valve assembly of hand wheels unit assembly.

  • Record and/or collect pertinent compressor data according to specified test requirements.

  • Wash, clean and wire brush or scrape parts as necessary.

  • Work from oral or written instructions or tags to properly mask nameplates, serial plates, machine or mating area, control panels, etc.

  • Apply decals as specified.

  • Prepare parts or assemblies for storage.

  • Remove all inside and external loose and fused sand and metal projections that do not follow the contour of the part.

  • Assemble caps, plugs, flanges and any other assorted parts in order to perform the pressure test operation per drawings or Frick MPS instructions.

  • Use of hand or power tools may be required to prepare surfaces for testing. Some attaching of nameplates by fasteners may be required.

  • Pressure test (pneumatic or hydrostatic) as per ASME Code specs or Frick MPS instructions (eye certification required) and present to ASME authorized Inspector for certification for registration.

  • Advise supervisor of leaks areas as per ASME requirements and Frick MPS instructions. (Certification required)

  • Prepare for paint or shipping by: A. Capping B. Cleaning C. Skidding

  • Detect unusual conditions or defective material and report to proper supervision.

  • Perform necessary material handling associated with job.

  • Maintain clean, safe work area and equipment according to 5S standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalency

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

  • Experience with working with measurment tools / testing equipment preferred

This role does provide on the job training!

This is for our 2nd shift- Monday through Friday 2pm to 10pm, however training will be conducted on 1st shift 6am to 2pm for about 5 months.
